Donald Trump issued an executive order about the desecration of the US flag (not that many actually read it).

The order does not explicitly criminalize flag burning but directs the Department of Justice, led by Attorney General Pam Bondi, to “vigorously prosecute” individuals who violate existing laws in ways that involve flag desecration, such as public nuisance, disorderly conduct, or property destruction. It also instructs federal agencies to refer cases to state or local authorities when applicable, particularly for violations like open burning restrictions. Additionally, the order targets foreign nationals by directing the Secretaries of State and Homeland Security to deny or revoke visas, residence permits, or other immigration benefits, and to seek deportation for those found to have desecrated the flag under circumstances allowing such actions. The reaction was swift and predictable.
Liberals were outraged and at least one arrested. Flag burning protests were ignited. Politicians were vociferous in objection.
It was all a trap.

Jay Carey was arrested in Lafayette Park after burning a U.S. flag & charged for violating 36 CFR 2.13(a)(1), which prohibits unauthorized fires on federal property. The arrest & charge was because it was unauthorized on federal property, NOT because it was the U.S. flag.

It’s glorious. Trump is not only adding onto the pile of things Americans favor and democrats are against, but he’s also bringing up something immensely hypocritical. It’s something I have railing against for a long time.

If burning the American flag is free speech, why is doing burnouts on LGBT is a hate crime? Why is burning an LGBTQ flag a hate crime?

Trump has set the end of this nonsense in play.

It’s all too easy. So eager are democrats to bite Trump that they fall for the trap every single time. democrats have become actors in a Marx Brothers movie.

democrats have no message other than “Orange Man Bad.” Nothing. Trump may also oversee something really spectacular- the destruction of the democrat party.
