(NewsNation) — Taylor Swift is engaged to Travis Kelce, the Kansas City Chiefs tight end, the couple announced on Instagram on Tuesday.
The pop star wrote on her social media page, “Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married.”
Photos show Kelce down on one knee proposing to the “Lover” singer in a garden adorned with pink and white roses.
Swift also shows off her massive engagement ring in the photo.
Kelce and Swift began dating and went public with their relationship in October 2023, when the pair was seen holding hands in New York City after a “Saturday Night Live” after-party, according to People magazine at the time.
In July 2023, The football player was seen at her “Eras Tour” at at Arrowhead Stadium, where he was watching the show from his private box as well as trading friendship bracelets with fans, People reports.
Kelce had said on his “New Heights” podcast that he didn’t get to connect with Swift after her show.
“I was disappointed that she doesn’t talk before or after her shows because she has to save her voice for the 44 songs she sings, so I was a little butthurt that I didn’t get to hand her one of the bracelets I made for her,” he said in 2023.
