A British Airways flight attendant recently pleaded guilty to performing aviation duties while under the influence of drugs after he was found naked and high on methamphetamine and amphetamines in an airplane bathroom on a flight from California to Heathrow Airport in London.
According to The BBC, Haden Pentecost, a 41-year-old British Airways flight attendant, was found to have methamphetamine and amphetamines in his body after he was “sweating” and “babbling” during a flight from California to London. The outlet noted that the 41-year-old flight attendant was removed from duty by a manager after he failed to conduct pre-flight safety checks.
The BBC reported that Pentecost complained that he was experiencing cramping, claimed that he needed to change his clothes, and locked himself into one of the airplane’s bathrooms. The 41-year-old flight attendant was later discovered naked and incoherent. In addition to being naked and incoherent, Pentecost had a high heart rate and dilated pupils.

According to The Guardian, the female coworker helped the 41-year-old male flight attendant get dressed and moved him into an empty seat on the airplane. The outlet noted that the airplane’s captain spoke to the flight attendant prior to notifying a health professional about the incident.
The Guardian reported that due to Pentecost’s condition, the 41-year-old flight attendant had to be checked on every 20 minutes until the airplane landed at Heathrow Airport. After the airplane landed at Heathrow Airport, Pentecost was transported to a local hospital for medical treatment.
According to The Guardian, Pentecost was fired by British Airways following the incident, and the 41-year-old flight attendant pleaded guilty on Friday in front of the Uxbridge Magistrates’ Court to performing an aviation duty while impaired by drugs.
The Guardian reported that Pentecost was released on bail following Friday’s court hearing; however, the flight attendant is now expected to be sentenced at Isleworth Crown Court after pleading guilty.
The New York Post shared a picture on Saturday of Pentecost on X, formerly Twitter.
