A 24-year-old Florida man has been charged with the stabbing death of his mother over the weekend.
The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said it was called to a home Saturday afternoon to assist a “medical situation” with Jacksonville Fire and Rescue, WJXT reported.
They found Lilian Ochoa-Menjivar, 55, suffering from multiple stab wounds. She was pronounced dead on the scene.
JSO said they arrested her son, Hector-Munoz-Ochoa, and charged him with second degree murder.
They did not say where or when he was taken into custody.
“Our work isn’t done; we’ll work alongside our partners at the State Attorney’s Office to make sure Munoz-Ochoa is held accountable for his actions,” JSO said in a statement on Tuesday.
Munoz-Ochoa is being held in the Duval County Jail.
