Cracker Barrel announced it will abandon its new logo after a wave of backlash, saying it will return to its longtime “Old Timer” emblem.
“We said we would listen, and we have. Our new logo is going away and our ‘Old Timer’ will remain,” the company said in a statement. “At Cracker Barrel, it’s always been—and always will be—about serving up delicious food, warm welcomes, and the kind of country hospitality that feels like family.”
The company, which employs about 70,000 people nationwide, thanked customers for speaking out. “As a proud American institution, our employees look forward to welcoming you to our table soon,” the statement added.
The reversal came after former President Donald Trump weighed in on the controversy. According to Deputy White House Chief of Staff Taylor Budowich, Cracker Barrel executives told him they “thanked President Trump for weighing in” and wanted him to know “they heard him, along with customer response (the ultimate poll).”
Trump also issued his own reaction on social media, applauding the decision. “Congratulations ‘Cracker Barrel’ on changing your logo back to what it was. All of your fans very much appreciate it,” he wrote. “Good luck into the future. Make lots of money and, most importantly, make your customers happy again!”
