President Trump is busy doing the unthinkable – actually making America safer. In Washington, D.C., since the federal takeover, crime has dropped. Imagine that: when law enforcement actually enforces the law – or at least shows up – crime goes down. Not exactly rocket science. And don’t think Democrats don’t get it.
So why do Democrats keep cozying up to criminals and defending high-crime cities? Fox News broadcaster Laura Ingraham recently pressed Vice President J.D. Vance on this, but even he dodged the truth. The elephant in the room is simple: Democrats cater to their base, and their base includes communities and constituents where crime rates are high. That’s what the whole “Defund the Police,” no-cash-bail, BLM wave was about.
But here’s the kicker – this soft-on-crime agenda doesn’t just hurt the country; it hits hardest in the very communities Democrats claim to champion, trapping minorities in cycles of poverty and violence while politicians virtue-signal from safe neighborhoods. Dems figure that by lowering the bar and looking the other way, they can lock in minority votes – even if the real cost is trapping those same communities in crime and chaos.
That’s the same playbook the Biden Administration used by waving in millions of unvetted foreigners. The fallout – including crime, economic strain, and drained resources – doesn’t matter. What matters to Democrats is banking future votes.
Meanwhile, Trump and other Republicans are trying to keep Americans safe amid the pushback of the Democrats. In New York City, the NYPD just welcomed 1,093 new recruits, the largest police academy class in nearly a decade. That’s boots on the ground, not hashtags on social media.
Meanwhile, in Washington, D.C. – once the muggers’ and car jackers’ paradise – violent crime is down 22 percent since Trump’s federal crackdown and the city went seven days without a homicide.
Trump-backed policies are also boosting enforcement in Memphis, a city once drowning in homicides. Federal agents and local police are finally working shoulder-to-shoulder, proving that when you let cops be cops, neighborhoods stop looking like war zones. Funny how that works.
But back in Michigan, Democrats are whining and crying at the very idea of getting any help from the Trump Administration. While Trump is using federal resources to save DC, Michigan Democrats basically shouted, “Not in our backyard!”
Michigan Democratic lawmakers have introduced House Bill 4976, which would prohibit the deployment of armed military or federal police forces into Michigan unless the governor (currently a Democrat who wants to be president) gives explicit permission or there’s a valid presidential order. They see such legislation as necessary to preserve Michigan’s sovereignty and to guard against what they describe as “authoritarian” federal overreach (i.e. Trump). Good luck on getting the bill passed, however, with a Republican-controlled House.
The Dems don’t want federal backup in Detroit or Flint – even as carjackings, shootings, and gang activity make headlines. Translation: better to score political points than to protect families.
The math is simple. More police = less crime. Trump gets it. Republicans get it. Residents in crime-ridden neighborhoods get it.
But Democrats? They’re still auditioning for a sequel to “Defund the Police,” stubbornly pretending that coddling criminals is a noble cause. It’s almost like they want chaos, because chaos makes room for their endless “equity” speeches.
At the end of the day, Americans don’t need more talking points – they need more cops. Trump’s delivering results. Democrats, including those in Michigan, are delivering excuses. And excuses don’t stop bullets.
