An online petition urging Florida officials to go easy on the illegal alien truck driver accused of killing three people in a vehicular accident has gathered more than 2.6 million signatures as of early Monday morning.
The petition, which is addressed to Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis and signed by the “Collective Punjabi Youth,” was posted to the website Change.org. It calls for the governor and the Florida Board of Executive Clemency to “re-examine and reduce the sentence” of the 28-year-old foreigner who should have never been allowed behind the wheel to begin with.
Over 2 million people have signed a rapidly growing petition calling for reduced sentencing in the case of Harjinder Singh, a 28-year-old truck driver accused of making an illegal U-turn that killed three people in Florida on August 12.

Harjinder Singh was driving the semi-truck and trailer when he made an illegal U-turn on the Florida Turnpike in Fort Pierce on August 12, causing the commercial vehicle to jackknife and collide with a minivan, killing all three occupants.
Singh was later arrested in Stockton, California, the state where he received his commercial driver’s license, and extradited to Florida, where he faces charges including three counts each of vehicular homicide and manslaughter.
St. Lucie County Judge Lauren Sweet denied bond for Singh on Saturday, ruling that the Indian national is an unauthorized alien and a substantial flight risk, also finding probable cause for the six charges, classifying them as “forcible felonies under Florida law,” according to Fox News.
“We, the undersigned, urge Governor Ron DeSantis and the Florida Board of Executive Clemency to re-examine and reduce the sentence for a 28-year-old truck driver involved in a fatal U-turn crash on Florida’s Turnpike in South Florida,” the petition reads. “This was a tragic accident — not a deliberate act. While accountability matters, the severity of the charges against him does not align with the circumstances of the incident.”

The petition says that Singh had no “criminal intent or history” and that he has “fully cooperated with authorities.” It also cites the case of another illegal alien in Colorado who initially was sentenced to 110 years for a fatal accident that claimed four lives, but Rogel Aguilera‑Mederos had his sentence commuted by the state’s Democrat Governor Jared Polis, who slashed it to 10 years with eligibility for parole after five years.
“The Aguilera-Mederos case illustrates how collective voices can catalyze justice reform,” the petition states.
“By granting clemency, you would reaffirm the value of proportional justice, the power of community advocacy, and the potential for rehabilitation. We believe this case is not just about one individual—it speaks to the broader principles of fairness and mercy in the justice system,” the petition concludes.
The “Collective Punjabi Youth” requests that DeSantis and Florida officials give Singh a “reasonable sentence that reflects the reality that this was a tragic accident, not an intentional act of harm. The punishment should be firm but fair — ensuring justice without being excessively harsh.”
California Governor Gavin Newsom, now the 2028 Democrat frontrunner, has tried to duck responsibility for his state giving Singh a license, blaming it all on President Donald J. Trump through the Governor Newsom Press Office X account, a lie-spewing sewage pipe that the governor himself has a very hands-on role in managing, according to his spokesperson.
False. Harjinder Singh is in the United States illegally and his work authorization was rejected under the Trump Administration on September 14, 2020. It was later approved under the Biden Administration June 9, 2021.

“Three innocent people were killed in Florida because Gavin Newsom’s California Department of Motor Vehicles issued an illegal alien a Commercial Driver’s License—this state of governance is asinine,” said DHS Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin in an August 18 press release.
“How many more innocent people must die before Gavin Newsom stops playing games with the safety of the American public? We pray for the victims and their families. Secretary Noem and DHS are working around the clock to protect the public and get these criminal illegal aliens out of America,” McLaughlin added.
