With every passing day, another bombshell seems to hit for New York City mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani.
This weekend, he held a big promotional event in NYC, taking a hidden shot at Mayor Adams.
He also announced a new policy, and it should scare everyone.
Flooding the Streets
Mamdani did a scavenger hunt in New York City this weekend, which had a reported crowd of about 2,000 people.
When he announced the hunt, he had a bag of potato chips in his lap, a clear shot at Adams over the bribery allegations made last week.
A report broke that an Adams staffer was trying to allegedly bribe a reporter by handing her a bag of chips that was loaded with cash.
Sadly, people are buying his rhetoric, with one voter stating, “I don’t think about them because they are completely far behind. They just sound so archaic and very Gotham City … They’re not in the real world like we are. Mamdani is.”
Recent Polling
Mamdani is not doing as well in polling as he was, but he still has a rather significant lead.
His disapproval rating is now nearing 50%, a huge jump from where it was just two months ago, but the four-way race is allowing him to keep his commanding lead.
In July, Mamdani had a 28-point lead, but that has now dissipated into a 12-point lead in the latest poll (American Pulse), down from the 18-point lead he had in the previous poll (Gotham).
The only way I can see Mamdani losing, unless something huge breaks before the election, is for two of the three candidates to drop out and allow someone to go head-to-head against the socialist.
EZ Pass
I can remember when Dallas prosecutors decided to raise the threshold on petty crimes, seeing more violent crime erupt in the streets. I believe that was because more residents were arming themselves to protect their property, resulting in violent confrontations.
Well, Mamdani wants to give minor criminals a free pass, stating, “Police have a critical role to play but right now we’re relying on them to deal with the failures of our social safety net, which is preventing them from doing their actual jobs.”
He wants to roll back punishment for non-violent offenders, which will likely only embolden these criminals more.
Do you know how you stop low-level criminals from becoming full-fledged thugs? You deter them from committing crimes. The more you get away with, the bolder you become, a lesson Democrats never seem to learn.
