In a shocking story out of Dresden, Germany, an American tourist proved himself a hero—only to be betrayed by the very authorities who should have had his back. The man, visiting Germany, witnessed two women being harassed and assaulted by Syrian migrants on a tram. Instead of turning a blind eye, he did what real men do: he stepped up to protect the women.

But bravery came at a price. One of the Syrian asylum seekers pulled a knife and stabbed the American directly in the face, leaving him bloodied and scarred.
