President Trump responded on Sunday to Maryland Democratic Gov. Wes Moore, who had called on the president to “come walk the streets with us.”
Trump said Moore should lower crime and clean up Baltimore first.
Trump also suggested that he might “rethink” the decision to give money for the bridge that had collapsed in Baltimore after a cargo ship accident.
“Governor Wes Moore of Maryland has asked, in a rather nasty and provocative tone, that I ‘walk the streets of Maryland’ with him,” Trump wrote on Truth Social. “I assume he is talking about out of control, crime ridden, Baltimore? As President, I would much prefer that he clean up this Crime disaster before I go there for a ‘walk.’”
Trump argued Moore has a “very bad” record on crime in the state and said he would send troops if he “needs help, like Gavin Newscum did in L.A.”
