Friday night’s Vikings–Titans game in Nashville delivered more than just football drama. In the middle of the action, fans were stunned when a green dildo was hurled onto the field — a bizarre stunt that, once the teams involved were considered, suddenly made a lot more sense.

Over the last several seasons, the NFL has come under fire for its embrace of male cheerleaders, a move critics say is part of the league’s steady march into “woke” territory. The Minnesota Vikings, one of the teams in Friday’s game, have been at the center of that controversy after proudly adding men to their cheerleading roster.
In fact, for the 2025 season, nearly a third of NFL teams will now have male cheerleaders. That includes the Vikings, Titans, Chiefs, 49ers, Eagles, Patriots, Rams, and several others. The Vikings issued a lengthy statement defending the decision, insisting that all cheerleaders were chosen purely for talent and passion. But not everyone is buying it.
Republican Congressman Clay Higgins blasted the NFL, saying the league’s obsession with this social agenda is pushing away its conservative fan base. “I don’t think the NFL actually wants conservatives to watch their football games. And I must say if that’s the NFL business model, they’re doing very, very well,” Higgins said.
It’s not hard to see why Friday’s bizarre protest made headlines. Fans frustrated with the NFL’s direction seem to be turning to mockery to make their point. After all, a green dildo flying across the field is not only a direct slap at the league’s “inclusive” cheer policies but also a symbol of the clownish state the NFL has created for itself.
In the end, the question isn’t just who threw it — but what message fans are sending to a league that appears more concerned with checking boxes than honoring tradition.
