Ghislaine Maxwell provided new information about former President Bill Clinton in an interview with the Justice Department, shining a fresh spotlight on his relationship with convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein.
The DOJ released transcripts of Maxwell’s two-day interview with Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche on Friday, revealing that Maxwell does not believe Clinton ever received a massage aboard Epstein’s private plane.
When asked about Clinton receiving massages from Epstein, Maxwell said, “I don’t believe he did… the time that Epstein and President Clinton spent together… they traveled… on the plane 26 times or whatever… I don’t believe there was ever a massage on the plane. And he didn’t, because I was there.”
This statement contrasts with photographs from September 2002 showing Clinton receiving a massage from Epstein accuser Chauntae Davies during a humanitarian trip to Africa. Other accusers, including Virginia Giuffre, have alleged Clinton visited Epstein’s private island, though none have accused him of committing crimes.
Clinton has consistently denied any knowledge of Epstein’s criminal activity, as the Conservative Brief reported.
In 2019, a spokesperson said Clinton “knew nothing about the terrible crimes” attributed to Epstein and denied he ever visited Epstein’s island.
Maxwell also emphasized in the DOJ interview that Clinton was her friend, “not Epstein’s friend,” and she recounted interactions with the former president during philanthropic events.
During the interview, Maxwell discussed her involvement with the Clinton Global Initiative. She said she was “very central” to the launch of the initiative, which hosts annual gatherings of world leaders, nonprofit organizers, and business figures.
Maxwell said Epstein supported her work with the initiative, though he sometimes tried to insert himself into the projects.
“He was annoying, in terms that I could catch him on the phone and he wouldn’t always agree with what I wanted to do. And I was like, it’s not your idea. I don’t really care what you think,” Maxwell said.
Maxwell also recalled traveling to Davos with Clinton at least once, possibly twice, and insisted that he never visited Epstein’s private island.
She said she first met Clinton at a White House event and later developed a friendly relationship with him through former Miami Beach Mayor Philip Levine. Maxwell also mentioned attending Chelsea Clinton’s wedding with a former boyfriend, clarifying that Epstein was not present.
Her testimony offers insight into her interactions with both Clintons while under scrutiny for her role in Epstein’s crimes.
Maxwell’s lawyer, David Oscar Markus, defended her credibility, saying, “Ghislaine Maxwell is innocent and never should have been tried, much less convicted, in this case. The materials newly released by the Department of Justice make this clear. Ms. Maxwell answered every question. She did not refuse to respond and did not dodge any question.”
The release of these transcripts underscores the continued public interest in Epstein’s connections to high-profile figures and the intricate network surrounding him.
While Maxwell’s statements do not implicate Clinton in any crimes, they provide a detailed account of his interactions with Epstein and clarify his involvement in the social and philanthropic circles linked to Epstein.
Maxwell’s cooperation with the DOJ highlights the ongoing effort to document and understand the full scope of Epstein’s activities, offering a glimpse into the complex relationships between Epstein, his associates, and influential public figures.
