Antony Blinken, the former U.S. Secretary of State for the administration of ex-President Joe Biden, just got kicked off of a beach.
The Daily Mail reports that Blinken was ordered to leave a East Hampton beach for trying to visit it when it was shut down for the incoming hurricane.
Blinken, perhaps, thought that such rules do not apply to him, but, on this occasion, he was wrong.

Here’s what happened:
The incident took place this past week, with Hurricane Erin approaching the United States’ East Coast.
The Daily Mail reports:
Former Secretary of State Antony Blinken was ordered to leave a beach in the Hamptons after violating closures put in place for Hurricane Erin. The 63-year-old was spotted relaxing on a beach chair on Georgica Beach on Thursday in the ritzy area of Long Island when he was approached by a beach patrol.
It would appear that Blinken did not put up a fight.
The outlet continues:
The former diplomat, who was trying to enjoy the sands with a friend, quickly packed up his things after seemingly being asked to leave. Blinken quickly grabbed a tote bag, cooler, and beach chair before making his way away from the water. Daily Mail has approached his representative for comment.
It does not appear as though a comment was provided.
Background
The Daily Mail separately reports on how the area was preparing for the incoming Hurricane Erin.
Per the outlet:
More than 50 beaches along the East Coast have been shut down on Saturday due to high levels of bacteria and dangerous riptides ahead of Hurricane Ernesto. The National Park Service and NYC Parks have shut down every beach in Brooklyn and Queens due to possibly life-threatening riptides as Ernesto pulls closer to the US coastline.
The outlet goes on to explain why the beaches were shut down.
It writes:
The National Hurricane Center reported life-threatening surf and rip currents on the East Coast and said they would reach Canada during the day and will pass near southeastern Newfoundland late Monday.
This included beaches in Long Island, such as Georgica Beach, where Blinken was removed. Other states in the area, including Massachusetts, are taking a similar approach. Massachusetts, for example, has also decided to close some 50 beaches due to bacteria and riptides, among other things. Better to be safe than sorry.
