On Friday afternoon, President Donald Trump reacted to the FBI raid on ex-national security advisor John Bolton’s home in Bethesda, Maryland earlier in the day.
Trump called Bolton a “low-life.”
“When I hired him, he served a good purpose,” Trump said, adding that Bolton “Always wants to kill people.”
“He’s a very quiet person, except on television, where he’ll always say something bad about Trump,” the president continued. “He’s not a smart guy, and he could be a very unpatriotic guy … I know nothing about it. I just saw this morning that they did a raid.”

FBI agents raided the Maryland home of former National Security Advisor John Bolton early Friday morning. Hours later, agents were seen at his Washington, D.C., office carrying out boxes, while Bolton himself lingered in the lobby.
The searches center on concerns that Bolton may still hold classified documents, a source said. Bolton, who served as President Donald Trump’s national security advisor from 2018 to 2019, has not been taken into custody.
Agents arrived at Bolton’s Bethesda residence around 7 a.m., acting on an investigation ordered by FBI Director Kash Patel. Minutes later, Patel posted on X: “NO ONE is above the law… @FBI agents on mission.”
