Medical malpractice allegations emerge in wake of Hulk Hogan’s death

Professional wrestling fans were left saddened last month after learning that superstar Hulk Hogan had passed away at the age of 71.

Although the legendary athlete’s death was initially attributed to cardiac arrest, there are now suggestions that medical malpractice may be to blame.

That’s according to the Daily Mail, which cited a recent report published by TMZ, which cited unnamed law enforcement sources.

The sources said an occupational therapist was on the scene when Hogan’s wife, Sky Daily, called 911 after discovering that her husband was not breathing.

What’s more, the occupational therapist is said to have alleged that Hogan sustained a severed nerve while undergoing a recent surgery.

The Daily Mail pointed out how the phrenic nerve controls the diaphragm, a muscle which allows someone to inhale and exhale air.  TMZ asserted that responding officers discussed the allegation with the occupational therapist, a conversation which they recorded on their bodycams.

Brooke Hogan demands police footage

Meanwhile, the Daily Mail pointed to a series of social media posts that were put up by Hogan’s daughter, Brooke Hogan.

“FACT: I’ve 100% gotten legit calls from professionals- from police officials to nurses that were supposedly with my dad on the day of his death telling ME I need to see body cam footage and I need to get a hold of the 911 tapes because they supposedly contain information that could potentially shed enough light to change the narrative we/I/everyone’s been hearing,” she wrote on Instagram.

“Those same professionals feel so passionately about what they witnessed, they have continued to contact me and push me to find specific answers to this very day,” Brooke continued.

“They are quite literally putting their careers at risk because they feel so compelled to do the right thing. The short of it is- it’s all up to my dad’s wife and I have zero control,” she lamented.

“I can not do anything, my hands are tied, and I have no say in anything regarding my dad – even as his daughter. Those are the rules as I’ve been told,” Brooke added.

Autopsy planned?

Those statements were followed by another post which declared, “I do not have any information on if or when he is being cremated. Could have been right after he died, could be tomorrow.”

“I do not know. I have been told by my brother there will be an autopsy. I do not know who will be performing the autopsy,” she asserted.

“Any information I receive from an autopsy — if one happens-whether I believe it or not, I will be keeping private out of respect for my father,” Brooke went on to insist.
