Left-wing panelists were upset Wednesday after Republican strategist Scott Jennings explained why Republicans gained over 4 million net voters since the 2020 election.
Democratic voter registration declined by 2.1 million across 30 states that register voters by party affiliation since the 2020 presidential election, while Republican registration climbed by 2.4 million. Jennings cited Democrats’ positions on illegal immigration, crime and the reaction to pro-Hamas protests since the Oct. 7, 2023, attack by the radical Islamic terrorist group Hamas that killed over 1,200 people in Israel.
“I think the Democrats are hemorrhaging voters because they’ve chosen all the wrong constituencies. They seem to care more about illegal aliens than American citizens, violent criminals than law-abiding citizens and the Palestinian flag more than the American flag,” Jennings said. “And when you take — when you take — when you take those positions on things like that, people tend to run to the other party.”
“That is not true. That is not true,” Democratic strategist Alencia Jonson claimed. “And you know that’s not necessarily true.”
WATCH:
President Donald Trump issued multiple executive orders to address illegal immigration on Jan. 20, 2025, including one that designated the Venezuelan prison gang Tren de Aragua (TdA), the El Salvadoran prison gang MS-13 and Mexican drug cartels as foreign terrorist organizations. Democrats have fiercely opposed Trump’s efforts to crack down on illegal immigration, filing multiple lawsuits to block his orders.
“Is there one mainstream Democrat that said he likes illegal immigrants over —” Adam Mockler, a content creator for MeidasTouch, asked before Jennings responded with, “Chris Van Hollen. There’s one.”
“He said that? Chris Van Hollen did not say that,” Mockler claimed, with Jennings firing back, “He went and had margaritas and Mai tais with what’s-his-name.”
Democratic Sen. Chris Van Hollen of Maryland and other Democrats demanded Kilmar Abrego Garcia, an adjudicated MS-13 member, be brought back to the United States after he was deported to El Salvador. Van Hollen met with Abrego Garcia in El Salvador in April at the prison where Garcia was being held.
“He met with Kilmar Abrego Garcia, who was brought back to the United States,” Mockler claimed. “The administration conceded that he was sent there wrongfully. So Chris Van Hollen, that’s not what he said.”
Abrego Garcia returned to the United States on June 6 to face charges in a federal court in Nashville related to a 2022 incident in which he was detained by police in Tennessee on suspicion of human trafficking during a traffic stop, but was released at the behest of the Biden administration FBI in 2022, according to the Tennessee Star.
