Canadians are learning the hard what that the legal system is rigged in favour of the criminals and law abiding taxpayers do not even have the right to defend themselves against lawlessness.
The most recent episode happened in Linsday, Ontario (about 60 minutes east of Toronto) when a man was woken up at 3am to be confronted with an armed intruder breaking into his apartment.
A struggle ensued, and the home invader got a lesson in “FAFO”: he had to be airlifted to a Toronto hospital.
The intruder was armed, and already wanted on separate charges related to completely different offences. He was charged with four separate crimes.
But Kawartha Lake Police also charged the tenant with assault causing bodily harm, pushing back on the public backlash in their statement:
“it is important to understand that these rights are not unlimited in Canada. The law requires that any defensive action be proportionate to the threat faced”
Which begs the question: when Canadians find themselves in the nightmare position of facing armed, violent criminals inside their own homes, will their actions be considered “reasonable” if they manage to survive it?
(It has since been disclosed that the tenant used a knife to defend himself).
Since the Trudeau liberals came to power in 2015, Canadians have been constantly reminded that the system is rigged in favour of criminals:
- Justin Trudeau said on camera that “Defending yourself with a gun is not a right that Canadians have”
- Toronto Police Services once advised homeowners to leave their key fobs near their front doors, in the hope that theives would simply steal your cars rather than invade your homes.
- A Quebec police department admonished citizens with doorbell cameras capturing images of porch pirates that posting those images online was a violation of the thieves rights.
Add that a never-ending list of repeat offenders, being arrested, charged re-released and committing more crimes (we covered how murders go free and sex offenders are given leniency in a previous article)
Canadians are getting the message loud and clear: the crooks have more rights than we do…
When the criminals have more rights than we do…
When repeat violent offenders are released on bail…
When wanted armed criminals break into your home and you’re the one who gets charged for defending it…
It means we’re on our own.https://t.co/P3FjhPOPBU pic.twitter.com/rpquY3pcEg

Canadians are getting the message loud and clear:
Criminals and repeat offenders have more rights than we do.
We’re on our own.
With that in mind we recently started The Canadian Ready Network (READY.CA) a grass roots self-help support group for everyone afflicted with the malady of being an honest, law abiding Canadian. Get on the list today »
