The Biden-Harris administration turned America’s highways into a death trap.
Their reckless immigration policies put unqualified foreign drivers behind the wheel of 40-ton killing machines.
And a federal probe just exposed one ugly truth about an illegal alien truck driver that has sanctuary states in panic mode.
Federal investigation reveals shocking failure of basic safety requirements
Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy wasn’t pulling any punches when the federal investigation results came in.
The Department of Transportation announced Tuesday that Harjinder Singh – the illegal alien truck driver who killed three Americans in a horrific Florida crash – failed basic English language and road sign tests that are supposed to be mandatory for commercial drivers.
Singh answered a pathetic two out of 12 verbal English questions correctly during his post-crash assessment.
Even worse, when federal investigators showed him four basic highway traffic signs, Singh could only identify one of them.¹
This is the man that sanctuary states in California and Washington decided was qualified to operate an 80,000-pound death machine on American highways.
“If states had followed the rules, this driver would never have been behind the wheel and three precious lives would still be with us,” Duffy stated. “Non-enforcement and radical immigration policies have turned the trucking industry into a lawless frontier, resulting in unqualified foreign drivers improperly acquiring licenses to operate 40-ton vehicles.”²

The federal probe revealed exactly how this system failed American families.
Singh illegally crossed the southern border in 2018 but wasn’t deported.
Instead, Washington state issued him a full commercial driver’s license in July 2023 – even though asylum seekers and people without legal status aren’t supposed to get that type of license.
California then doubled down on the stupidity by issuing Singh another commercial license in July 2024.
Three Americans paid the ultimate price for sanctuary state recklessness
The deadly crash happened August 12 near Fort Pierce, Florida, when Singh attempted an illegal U-turn across all four lanes of the Florida Turnpike.
Singh used an “official use only” opening that’s clearly marked for authorized personnel only.
A minivan carrying three people had no chance to avoid the massive truck blocking their path and slammed into the trailer at full speed.³

All three Americans in that minivan died because sanctuary states decided political correctness was more important than highway safety.
The victims were a 30-year-old man from Florida City, a 37-year-old woman from Pompano Beach, and a 54-year-old man from Miami.
They were just trying to get home to their families.
Singh walked away from the crash while three American families got the worst phone call of their lives.
And you know what makes this even more infuriating? Federal law has required commercial drivers to speak English “sufficiently” for decades.
President Trump signed an executive order noting that proficiency in English “should be a non-negotiable safety requirement for professional drivers.”
“They should be able to read and understand traffic signs, communicate with traffic safety, border patrol, agricultural checkpoints, and cargo weight-limit station officers,” the order continues. “Drivers need to provide feedback to their employers and customers and receive related directions in English. This is common sense.”⁴
This is basic common sense that apparently doesn’t exist in sanctuary states.

Sanctuary states created a lawless frontier on American highways
Here’s what really happened – and it’s exactly what you’d expect from states that think immigration law is optional.
Washington state completely ignored federal regulations when they handed Singh a full-term commercial license in 2023.
The state knew Singh was an asylum seeker without legal status, but they gave him the license anyway.
California wasn’t any better, issuing Singh a limited-term license in 2024 that federal investigators are now examining for compliance violations.
And get this – when New Mexico State Police conducted a roadside inspection of Singh just three days before the deadly crash, they didn’t bother giving him the English proficiency test that’s been required since June 25.⁵
The whole system failed because Democrat-run states decided enforcing federal safety regulations was beneath them.

Transportation Secretary Duffy made it clear this administration won’t tolerate the lawless approach that got Americans killed.
“We will use every tool at our disposal to hold these states and bad actors accountable,” Duffy declared.⁶
Think about the chain of failures that had to happen for three innocent Americans to die on a Florida highway.
Singh illegally entered the country but wasn’t deported.
The Biden administration gave him a work permit that Trump had previously denied.
Two sanctuary states gave him commercial licenses despite his inability to speak English or read road signs.
Multiple law enforcement encounters failed to catch his obvious lack of basic driving skills.
And then Singh decided an “official use only” highway opening was his personal U-turn lane.
Every single failure in that chain traces back to Democrat policies that prioritize illegal aliens over American safety.
This wasn’t an accident – it was the inevitable result of turning immigration enforcement into a joke.
Singh is now facing three counts of vehicular homicide and will be deported after he serves his time.
But those three American families will never get their loved ones back because sanctuary states decided being “compassionate” to illegal aliens was more important than protecting American lives.
The federal investigation into this deadly crash should be a wake-up call for every sanctuary state that thinks federal law doesn’t apply to them.
When you ignore basic safety requirements to make illegal aliens feel welcome, Americans die.
It’s that simple.
