SOLAR ENERGY SUPPORTS FLORIDA POWER GENERATION ONLY APPROXIMATELY 5.2 HRS/ DAY, ACCORDING TO THE NATIONAL RENEWABLE ENERGY LABORATORY (NREL). Yet the major providers, Florida Power &Light, TECO (Tampa Electric), and Duke Energy FL, who produce an estimated 70 – 90% of Florida’s power needs today are turning to solar to the exclusion of all other sources. WHY?
Monday, 8/11/2025, was to be Day One of public hearings on Florida Power and Light’s requested $10 BILLION rate increase request. Instead, the hearings were closed to the public. It is estimated by FP&L insiders that it will just take a week or two to reopen the hearings.
I must wonder how many decisions will have already been “set in stone” before this happens. This sounds as dark as a solar-panel-lit household at night, after old Sol goes to sleep.
According to the Tampa Free Press on Monday, “State regulators have paused a high-profile case concerning Florida Power & Light’s (FPL) proposed base electric rate increases, following a Friday announcement by the utility and several parties that they had reached a “settlement in principle.” At this writing, we still do not know what that “settlement” might contain.
“The public counsel, plus other groups advocating for residents, are not working on the potential settlement, and all opposed the motion to suspend the hearings.
Meanwhile, those working with Florida Power & Light largely represent business interests, including data centers, retail companies and heavy industry, all of whom pay big electric bills.”
According to the Tampa Bay Times, FP&L promises consumers will still get “due process”. With the epidemic of lawfare in these last years, why don’t I trust this?
This is key, I believe.
While “enlightened” people who run Xcel Energy in eight states – Colorado, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Michigan, North Dakota, South Dakota, Texas and New Mexico – are openly spending $3.1 billion for Environmental and Social Governance, Florida Power & Light are closing their hearings, concerning their solar-stuffed future, to anyone on the outside. Outside of the Globalist agenda, that is.
It appears that Florida Power and Light is on that same “renewables” train along with other “social justice” warriors. Don’t forget their pledge in 2022: Net Zero by 2045. Did they close the hearings because they are afraid of the well-deserved blow-back about the costs and reliability of solar energy??? Is the Tallahassee cabal in concert with this, to hide the Globalist cloud overhanging the state?
People have come to expect destructive social programs from Leftist states, but not from a “red state” like Florida. People are learning, however.
With all the push for solar in the future plans for Florida energy provision, it would seem that the Sunshine State is just another group of Globalists, pushing for darkness.
Turning off the lights on the scheduled hearings, says a lot.
