With Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem already facing threats to her family, House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) further fueled fearmongering over one Trump administration official he vowed to have “hauled” before Congress.
While the American people widely agree that illegal aliens need to be shown the door, the Democratic Party and its faltering approval numbers continue to make open borders a priority. So it was late last week that speakership hopeful Jeffries insisted Noem would be at the front of the line for congressional testimony for an alleged “lack of respect … for the rule of law.”
Appearing on “The Bulwark Podcast” with host Tim Miller, the congressman made clear his intention to bring Noem before the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee if Democrats take the majority in the 2026 midterms.
“It’s my expectation that Kristi Noem will be one of the first people hauled up to Congress shortly after the gavels change hands to get a real understanding for the American people as to this conduct that has taken place,” said Jeffries who listed, “the lack of respect for due process, for the rule of law, the unleashing of masked agents on law-abiding immigrant communities, and the disappearing of people, in some instances, to other countries without any real evidence that criminal behavior took place.”

The New York lawmaker went on to claim his support for deporting “violent criminals, felons … but not law-abiding immigrant families, including, in some instances, U.S. citizen children who’ve been sent overseas to a place that they’ve never known.”
“So all of this is gonna require aggressive oversight activity,” he added.
Giving an idea of what Noem would face after a hypothetical midterm triumph from the left, Jeffries previewed that Democratic Party Reps. Bennie Thompson of Mississippi and Jamie Raskin of Maryland, who Biden pardoned following their roles on the Jan. 6 committee, would be placed as chairs of the House Homeland Security and House Judiciary Committees, respectively.
Notably, the defense of illegal aliens took place before three more fatalities were attributed to globalist open border policies. As had been reported, an alien who was issued a commercial driver’s license by the state of California is facing three counts of vehicular homicide after allegedly attempting an unlawful U-turn on the Florida turnpike, causing a minivan to collide with the truck, leading to the deaths of all three occupants.
Additionally, Jeffries’ targeting of Noem for upholding the law and striving to restore national sovereignty in the United States came as the secretary’s family had to temporarily relocate to military housing after the corporate media published the address of her Washington, D.C. apartment.
After a report from the Washington Post posed questions about the “highly unusual arrangement” of Noem’s housing situation, DHS Assistant Secretary for Public Affairs Tricia McLaughlin posted to X late last week, “This is truly sick, @washingtonpost. The media doxxed Secretary Noem’s precise apartment location as she faces daily death threats, including from the terrorist organizations, cartels and criminal rings @DHSgov targets.”
“Due to the increased threats and safety concerns, she has been forced to temporarily stay in secure military housing. As the DHS officers Secretary Noem leads face a 1000% increase in assaults against them, the Washington Post chooses to again publish where she lives. A revealing lack of basic humanity for another person’s safety,” continued McLaughlin, leading the Post’s Dan Lamothe to insist that equating “fact-based reporting” with doxxing was “[b]eyond a reach with the facts.”
