Years ago, when I was still working for Planned Parenthood, I was handed a packet from our CFO. It detailed an $18 million capital campaign to build the largest abortion facility in the Western Hemisphere—right in the heart of Houston.
Every employee was expected to give. I gave so much, they promised to put my name on a bronze plaque mounted on the front of that building. It was my way of showing how deeply committed I was to the abortion cause for women.
But before the facility ever opened its doors, I walked away. God broke into my heart and changed everything.
Since then, I’ve stood outside that very building, not with pride, but with prayer. Not with ambition, but with repentance. I’ve joined countless others praying for the women who walked in… and mourning the lives that never came out.
And now, after all these years—it’s closing.
But it’s not because they chose compassion. It’s because abortion is changing. It’s because chemical abortions have taken the place of surgical ones. And it’s because the pro-life movement continues to make ground.
This building’s closure is symbolic, yes—but it’s also a victory.
Now, I stand with 750 other former abortion workers who represent hundreds of abortion clinics, 56 of which are now permanently closed. These courageous men and women are speaking out about the truth of what is going on in their former abortion clinics, and they are willing to go wherever the Lord sends them to share their stories. (Visit our speakers’ page linked at the end of this email to learn how to book a Quitter to speak at your church or event.)
Our ministry was given a scholarship fund in the will of the late Dr. Nancy Sandrock, who believed in this mission and had a strong desire to help former abortion workers use their medical vocations for good instead of evil. This year, we had EIGHT applicants, and our team prayerfully decided to award a scholarship to all eight ex-abortion workers who are using their skills for life-affirming work.
Friend, we are turning the tide. But we cannot stop now. The victory isn’t just in the closure of places, but in the people whose lives are changed forever by Jesus Christ.
