In Northern New Jersey, a Girl Scout troop leader of seven years – who also happens to chair Moms for Liberty, a nonprofit organization dedicated to “fighting for the survival of America by unifying, educating and empowering parents to defend their parental rights at all levels of government – was shown the door. Her offense? Refusing to sell “Gender Sexuality Alliance” clubs like they were boxes of Thin Mints – and all the other progressive things being pushed.
According to a report in NJ Advance Media, troop leader Alex Bougher was allegedly removed from her duties as a volunteer Girl Scout troop leader by two council members of the Girl Scouts of Northern New Jersey because of social media posts about the organization’s increased activism.
They didn’t tell Bougher which of her posts violated the Girl Scouts’ code of conduct but she thinks it was probably when she took a stance against a Girl Scouts of Northern New Jersey’s post about promoting Pride Month.
Bougher said in a phone interview with NJ Advance Media, “I reposted it and I said, ‘just to be clear, my troop will not be doing this.’”
Bougher said she’s been outspoken about many things including when she saw some troops were taking kids to Black Lives Matter marches and getting them into activism. Bougher said, “And we were like, this is not what Girl Scouts is about, and it’s also dangerous – bringing young children there. We sort of saw that change and some other things too, but you know, I kept my my mouth shut, I kept my troop – they’re all friends with each other. They can do those events and we’ll do our own thing, you know.”
When she was fired, Bougher was told, “We’re here today to talk about your role as a leader. You will no longer be a leader, it’s a final decision. We will not be discussing it, we’ll not be talking about it, we’ve already done that. That’s our final decision and it’s not changing. Not only that, you are not allowed to be a member anymore and neither can your daughter.”
So much for understanding, inclusion, and diversity – the buzzwords Democrats love to parade. In reality, it’s all about control: their way or no way.
