Everything these days is “historic” and “unprecedented”. This is the first time in a long time that you can truly say that the day was historic and unprecedented. European leaders gathered at the White House yesterday until last evening to discuss peace in Ukraine with Volodymyr Zelensky. A coven of world leaders meeting usually takes months to plan. The White House diplomatic staff had since Saturday. Well done. Although things looked smooth and beautiful, not everybody was impressed. Naturally.
I must admit that when I wrote about the meeting, on Sunday, I did so while casting a gimlet eye. Zelensky is coming and he needs his European posse to back him up: Italian PM Giorgia Meloni, French President Emmanuel Macron, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, Germany Chancellor Friedrich Merz, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, and Finland President Alexander Stubb. Right. It was well-done and it wasn’t a let’s beat up on Trump and America fest.
That’s not to say the Lame Stream, America Hating Media didn’t find things to kvetch about.
The Daily Beast has issues with Dr. Monica Crowley, Trump’s Chief of Protocol:
Trump Snubs Greatest Allies With Greeting From Fox News Star Monica Crowleyhttps://t.co/edfdJVLxDG via @thedailybeast

After rolling out the red carpet for Vladimir Putin in Alaska on Friday, President Donald Trump did not directly greet European leaders arriving at the White House on Monday.
Seven European leaders including British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, French President Emmanuel Macron, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, Finnish President Alexander Stubb and Secretary General of NATO Mark Rutte, have all flown to Washington to show a united front as Trump met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
A gathering of so many European leaders at the White House at one time with such little notice is unprecedented in recent times.
European leaders were greeted by the Chief of Protocol and former Fox News personality Monica Crowley rather than the president as they started arriving at the White House.
Why shouldn’t the Chief of Protocol greet the guests? Even if she once was a Fox News contributor. Everyone at the Daily Beast is a numpty. Thank you for your attention to this matter.
We love Giorgia Meloni’s eye rolls. But you have to be careful. They don’t all mean the same thing and one must know at whom they are aimed. The Irish Star failed, epically. “Prime Minister of Italy Giorgia Meloni mocks Trump with brutal eye roll”.
Italy’s Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni brutally mocked U.S. President Donald Trump on Monday afternoon when she rolled her eyes at a joke he made about her predecessor and how they had not been in the position for very long.
“They don’t last very long. You’ve lasted a long time, you’re gonna be there a long time,” Trump said to seemingly appreciative Meloni. Trump then continued with his remarks, introducing German Chancellor Friedrich Merz.
It’s then that Meloni can be seen flicking her eyes up to the ceiling before hitching the smile back on her face. “HOLY S—- — The Prime Minister of Italy, Giorgia Meloni, just ROLLED her eyes after chuckling at Trump’s joke,” the video was captioned.
They added, “Trump never fails to be an embarrassment on the world stage. ” The video instantly went viral.
“She’s thinking, ‘He’s such a fool,’” one person commented. “The whole world rolls its eyes every time he opens his mouth; it’s just not usually caught on camera,” added a second person.
Here it is:

Okay, she went from a flirty twitter to an eye flip that said, “Boys!” We love Giorgia Meloni. Here is Meloni’s speech from the meeting:
The “Article 5 Model” was an Italian suggestion.
Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni has suggested NATO’s Article 5 protection could be extended to cover Ukraine even if it is not a full member state, suggesting this would be better than options such as the deployment of peacekeeping forces to monitor a ceasefire.
Article 5 states that an attack on any NATO member would be treated like an attack on them all.
“Extending the same coverage that NATO countries have to Ukraine would certainly be much more effective, while being something different from NATO’s membership,” Meloni said at a press briefing in Brussels, Ukrainska Pravda reported.
“I think that would be a stable, lasting, effective security guarantee, more than some of the proposals I’m seeing,” she said.
The meeting broke up about 6:15 p.m. EDT with Zelensky flying back to Ukraine and Emmanuel Macron going back to the French Embassy to do television hits.
Speaking of hits, the Washington Post only waited a half an hour before posting: “In hurried D.C. summit, Europeans try to bend Trump away from Kremlin”:
Leaders of European and NATO countries presented a united front Monday with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, after racing to Washington hoping to steer President Donald Trump away from some of the concessions he appeared ready to grant the Kremlin to end the war in Ukraine.
Trump offered a polite reception to Zelensky, a stark difference from his visit in February, when he was ejected from the White House after a meeting turned into a verbal attack by Trump.
The welcome fell short, however, of the red carpet and B-2 bomber flyover that greeted Russian President Vladimir Putin when he arrived Friday to meet Trump in Anchorage.
Well, little brains, they all got to walk on a Red Carpet and they didn’t need to have a B-2 flyover. Jeez. Russia had to sell us Alaska because the country was skint/broke. So, Putin was walking on a Red Carpet in a state the Russians used to own with an impressive bomber going over his head. Get it now? More:
Monday’s unusual group meeting at the White House continued an extraordinary sequence of diplomacy that could shape security in Europe for a generation, with European leaders fearing that Putin was getting the upper hand in a breakneck peace effort. Trump reveled at Monday’s tableau, saying that the White House had never seen such a collection of prime ministers and presidents, all of whom dropped what they were doing to rush to Washington to try to salvage Ukraine’s security.
When was the last time an impressive collection of European prime ministers and presidents were at the White House like this? I’ll wait.
The White House did look FABULOUS:
HAPPENING NOW!
