In broad daylight, in what used to be one of America’s proud cities, a group of masked criminals stormed into a jewelry store in Seattle and made off with $2 million worth of diamonds, Rolex watches, gold, and fine jewelry. The whole thing took only 90 seconds. No, this isn’t a scene from a movie—it’s the new lawless reality in parts of our country where crime runs unchecked and criminals walk free while hardworking people live in fear.
Four masked thieves smashed through the locked doors of Menashe & Sons Jewelers with hammers. They broke into six display cases, stealing everything from a $750,000 case of Rolex watches to a $125,000 emerald necklace. One of them even threatened the workers with bear spray and a Taser. Thankfully, no one was physically hurt. But the emotional toll, the loss, and the terror this causes in the hearts of everyday Americans is real. The store had to close, and the employees were left shaken.
This isn’t just about one robbery. It’s about what kind of nation we want to live in. Do we want a country where criminals feel bold enough to strike during the day, knowing they will probably get away with it? Do we want to live in cities where the law-abiding live in fear and the lawbreakers laugh at justice?
Let’s be honest. This kind of crime doesn’t happen in a vacuum. It happens in places where leaders have turned their backs on law enforcement. It happens where police are told to stand down, where district attorneys refuse to prosecute, and where criminals are coddled instead of punished. Seattle, like other cities run by soft-on-crime policies, has become a breeding ground for this kind of chaos.
This is what happens when the rule of law is replaced by the rule of the mob. When cities stop enforcing the laws, the criminals take over. The very purpose of government, as our Founders made clear, is to protect the rights and safety of the people. That includes the right to own property without fear it will be stolen. That includes the right to work and run a business without being targeted by gangs and thugs.
We need to return to the principles that made this country great—strong communities, strong families, and strong law enforcement. We must demand that our elected officials stop siding with criminals and start protecting citizens. That means backing the blue, prosecuting crimes to the full extent of the law, and restoring respect for the rule of law.
President Trump understands this. He believes in law and order. He believes that every American deserves to feel safe in their home, their neighborhood, and their place of work. Under his leadership, we are bringing back accountability. We are empowering police, not defunding them. And we are standing up for the small business owners, the workers, and the families who want to live in peace.
It’s time for Americans to rise up and say enough is enough. We will not accept lawlessness as the new normal. Smash-and-grab criminals should not be treated as victims of society—they are predators. And in a free and just society, predators face justice.
Let’s rebuild our cities with order, not chaos. Let’s raise our voices for the rule of law. And let’s return to the Constitutional values that made this Republic strong in the first place—liberty, justice, and security for all.
