U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Kristi Noem has temporarily relocated her personal residence to military housing.
Fox News reports that Noem was essentially forced to do so after she was “doxed” and after she received death threats.
“Doxing,” according to the DHS, “refers to gathering an individual’s personally identifiable information (PII) and
releasing it publicly for malicious purposes, such as public humiliation, stalking, identity theft, or targeting for harassment.”

Noem gets doxed
Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin provided an overview of the situation on social media on Friday.
She wrote:

The doxing was done by the Washington Post.
The report, in part, reads, “Noem pays no rent to live in the commandant’s house, according to an official familiar with the matter … That’s a departure from how other Cabinet secretaries have handled arrangements.”
Democrats attempted to capitalize politically off of this, claiming that Noem is essentially mooching off of the taxpayer funds.
“It’s a shame”
McLaughlin has since released a follow-up statement on the situation, in response to the criticism from the Democrats.
She said:
Following the media’s publishing of the location of Secretary Noem’s Washington D.C. apartment, she has faced vicious doxxing on the dark web and a surge in death threats, including from the terrorist organizations, cartels, and criminal gangs that DHS targets. Due to threats and security concerns, she has been forced to temporarily stay in secure military housing
McLaughlin goes on to state that “Secretary Noem continues to pay rent for her Navy Yard residence,” adding, “It’s a shame that the media chooses sensationalism over the safety of people enforcing America’s laws to keep Americans safe.”
Noem has made it clear that she is not going to let any of this slow her and her team down.
She recently said:
We will not and have not let this violence stop us or slow us down. Everyday our law enforcement continues to enforce the law and arrest the most depraved criminals including pedophiles, terrorists, murderers, gang members, and sexual predators.
