Episode summary:
Wintery Knight and Desert Rose welcome Terrell Clemmons to discuss the 100th anniversary of the Scopes Monkey Trial. We discuss Charles Darwin’s theory of evolution, its impact on morality, and its ties to racism and eugenics. Clemmons challenges the popular “religion-versus-science” framing of the debate over origins, and offers practical guidance for Christians to challenge materialist narratives with scientific evidence.

Episode 67:
Speaker biographies
Terrell Clemmons earned a BS in Computer Science from Clemson University and worked in software development until she hopped off the career track to be a full-time mom. Raised in a church-going home, she lived complacently toward the faith until she became a parent. Newly motivated at that point to find truth about the bigger issues of life, she researched the worldview claims of Christianity and became convinced that they were actually true. She began writing on Christian living and apologetics in 2004 and joined Salvo in 2007. She has also worked with Ratio Christi and Anchorsaway apologetics ministries for youth. With her kids now grown and her husband deceased, she lives in Indianapolis, Indiana, with her dog, the only family member still at home, and writes on apologetics and matters of faith.
Wintery Knight is a black legal immigrant. He is a senior software engineer by day, and an amateur Christian apologist by night. He has been blogging at winteryknight.com since January of 2009, covering news, policy and Christian worldview issues.
Desert Rose did her undergraduate degree in public policy, and then worked for a conservative Washington lobbyist organization. She also has a graduate degree from a prestigious evangelical seminary. She is active in Christian apologetics as a speaker, author, and teacher.

If you want to know more about this topic, I encourage you to check out Issue #73 of Salvo magazine, which is edited by Terrell Clemmons. One of the easiest ways to get conversations started in your home or workplace is to have something eye-catching that will provoke discussions. One of our podcast helpers (Bonnie) already subscribes to Salvo, and another of our podcast helpers (Vitoria) subscribed to it after looking at the issue online.
The graphics for Salvo magazine are done by Jerry Janquart and the print version works well as a conversation starter. The trouble you might have is that you will need two copies. One for you, and one to lend out. If you subscribe, they give you the PDF immediately, so you can read that one on your tablet, while you wait for the lending out copy to arrive. It looks great on a tablet or a coffee table. You can have a lot of adventures with a print copy of Salvo.
