A former Girl Scouts troop leader in New Jersey has alleged she was removed from her post for refusing to promote “Pride” month to kids.
Alexandra Bougher, who also serves as the Bergen County chapter chair of Moms for Liberty, claimed she was let go in a phone call this past Wednesday because of a social media post, according to NJ.com.
The Girl Scouts officials refused to specify which post, but she believes it may have been the one in which she’d complained about the Girl Scouts of Northern New Jersey promoting Pride Month in a post of their own.
“I reposted it and I said, ‘just to be clear, my troop will not be doing this,’” she recalled to NJ.com. “I guess that’s the one. They actually refused to tell me which one it was, but I’m assuming it was that one since it was pulled off their site.”

“They said, ‘we’re here today to talk about your role as a leader,’” she continued. “‘You will no longer be a leader, it’s a final decision. We will not be discussing it, we’ll not be talking about it, we’ve already done that. That’s our final decision and it’s not changing. Not only that, you are not allowed to be a member anymore and neither can your daughter.’”
Bougher was reportedly devastated by being let go.
“Alex has been a troop leader for seven years, during which her own daughter has been a member of the troop,” Moms for Liberty explained. “She was devastated to receive an unexpected call from the Girl Scouts informing her that she can no longer lead the troop of over 30 young girls.”
“This news meant she would no longer have the opportunity to take them camping, canoeing, performing community service, bonding, and simply enjoying good, wholesome fun together,” the group added.
According to Moms for Liberty, Bougher had also “vocalized” concerns about the Girl Scouts’ “shift toward LGBTQIA+ activism and the introduction of Gender Sexuality Alliance Clubs to sixth-grade girls without parental knowledge or consent.”
“To clarify, we do not discuss these matters with our scouts,” she reportedly said. “There is absolutely no reason to address anything sexual with children at any time. We have taken an oath to protect children, and that means being safe adults.”
The remarks were made “in response to a series of social media posts from Girl Scouts that embraced the idea that boys can choose to identify as girls, suggesting that adults should discuss sexual preferences and gender identities with little girls without informing their parents.”

Speaking with NJ.com, Bougher said none of the sexual content she increasingly observed in the Girl Scouts was normal.
“I saw the change with Girl Scouts a few years ago when some troops were taking their kids to Black Lives Matter marches, and that was not only OK, but they were sort of pushing it like ‘this is so great, get them into activism,’” she recalled.
“And we were like, this is not what Girl Scouts is about, and it’s also dangerous — bringing young children there. We sort of saw that change and some other things too, but you know, I kept my mouth shut, I kept my troop — they’re all friends with each other. They can do those events and we’ll do our own thing, you know,” she added.
But the Girl Scouts’ foray into “Pride” was the final straw.
Non-Binary Scouts?

She explained that everything hit the fan when other local troops started attending events at a local church with a “Progressive Pride” flag.
“A pride flag is one thing but to put it in front of 5-year-olds — that is going to open up a discussion and I don’t think it’s appropriate for a troop leader to have that discussion with a child,” she said. “That’s highly inappropriate to have in front of children.”
“So we asked them to remove it. They would not. And so I made a social media post. I know [the church is] private, but when you’re hosting children’s activities can you at least remove it when the kids are there? Why is it more important to have it up in front of children? Like, why?” she added.
Bougher also revealed that she’d kept her troop of girls away from an ice cream event at the church, reportedly featuring a 13-year-old “transgender girl” speaking about gender identity.
