A North Carolina man kicked out of a Charlotte bar for fighting with another patron came back 30 minutes later with a machete and brass knuckles and attacked the patron.
“Remember me?” Matthew King, 39, asked his victim when he returned at about 2 a.m. Saturday, approaching the victim from behind and trying to hit him with the brass knuckles, WBTV reported.
Then, police said, he swung the 18-inch machete at the victim’s head. The victim raised his hand to block the attack and suffered a severe cut.
Witnesses then took King to the ground and disarmed him while the victim was rushed to the hospital to undergo surgery. One of the witnesses suffered a cut to his thigh during the melee, WCCB reported.
King himself was taken to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries he suffered when bar patrons stopped his attack, according to WBTV.
King has been charged with attempted murder and assault with a deadly weapon, jail records show.
