Freedom From Soul Wounds and Demons, Your Breakthrough to True Peace and Joy

I found this book when I came across one of the author’s videos by chance, but I don’t believe it was a coincidence. That video led me to this book and WOW was it ever an answer to my prayers!

You see like many of our fellow believers in Christ we wonder why we don’t produce much fruit of the spirit. We see the fruits of the spirit in Galatians 5, vs 22 and 23. 22But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23gentleness, and self-control. Against such things there is no law.…

Yet when I examine my life everyday during my prayer and study time I wonder why am I not producing a ton of fruit? Why does it feel like such a struggle to achieve those fruits? Why don’t I feel joy all of the time? Where is my peace? Where in the world is my patience and kindness? How about self control, where did that one go today? I know these are questions we all have as believers and they need to be addressed so we can truly live free as Jesus said we would.

The answer lies within us or rather WHAT may lie within us…demons. I know what you’re thinking, “come on Johnny you can’t have a demon and have the Holy Spirit at the same time”. Really? Are you sure about that? I thought I was as well as I was taught the same thing and it is still repeated to this day, Christians can’t be possessed by a demon because they have the Holy Spirit. I’m not talking about POSESSION but rather OPPRESSION. Actual physical possession is actually less of what demons do but they can definitely cling onto you if they have legal ground to be there and that’s what this book deals with. This is not an exorcist type of possession but rather more like a parasite clinging onto your aura and feeding off of your fears and anxiety.

You see a demons first job in your life is to keep you far away from the Gospel and it’s life saving power. If they fail to do that then their next job is to rob you of your new life, to steal your joy and steal God’s word out of your heart. The devil got to me early on in my walk (at the 1 year mark) and messed me up for years to come. It wasn’t until I totally recommitted myself to God in 2016 that I really started to heal and grow in Christ. One thing about it though it was REALLY HARD to come back as the world had been hardening me and I had a lot of pride to get rid of so my advice to you is DON’T EVER BACKSLIDE!

“Everyone in this world has been hurt and wounded in their souls…” is how the book starts out in the introduction. What a true statement that is because all of us have been hurt and wounded in our souls and it’s these unhealed wounds that give demons their legal grounds to work in our lives.

Then the people who have been hurt come to church, hoping to connect more closely with Jesus (or God) and are told they need to simply ask Jesus to come into their hearts, read their Bible, and some will tell them to pray in tongues, fast, or listen to Christian music and they should be good to go. But even then, they still cannot stop the hundreds and thousands of negative thoughts in their head each day. They continue to live a sinful life that they cannot change, trigger on their loved ones by getting angry or not talking at all, and live a life full of their flesh, lying to people, and having minimal (if any), real fruit of the Spirit according to Galatians 5:22-23.

The above statement is also from the introduction of the book and all of it is true. These wounded people (you and I included) come to church hoping to connect more closely with Jesus and are told that we simply need to repent from our sins, ask Jesus to come into our hearts, pray in tongues fast and listen to Christian music and everything will be just fine. Yet they continue to struggle with the same sins they can’t change, they still get angry and live a life according to the flesh and all of the lust it contains. Then we cry out in repentance wondering why we keep sinning in the same areas again and again. We love God and we want to please God but we always seem to keep falling short. The question is WHY?

Soul wounds and demons, that’s why. What is a soul anyway? We know we have a spirit but what is the soul? Essentially it’s the combination of our mind, will and emotions. You see when someone asks Jesus into their hearts healing our emotional wounds and scars doesn’t happen instantly, we are all a work in progress. Sure God can and does heal people from physical and emotional scars instantly, but in order to keep that peace and manifest other fruits of the spirit we have to work at it. I love those who love me, and those who seek me diligently find me. Proverbs 8:17

What happened when they asked Jesus into their heart was that their soul (i.e.: mind, will, and emotions) was still wounded from their past when they grew up and they still have anger and unforgiveness for those who hurt them and walk in pride. Unfortunately, that does not just magically go away when someone asks Jesus into their hearts. If their mother, father, stepparent (or anyone else ) didn’t love them like Christ, said or did things that caused them pain, which is always inevitable – then they tend to remember all the injustices done to them and cannot truly forgive from their hearts.

Those are just some examples of soul wounds that if left unresolved will result in a fruitless walk with the Lord. I know this because that’s how I was walking for years and in fact until I found this book I didn’t have a ton of good fruit. I had some bad fruit like lust, anger outbursts, depression, to name the main ones afflicting me. Since getting this book I had to do some soul searching over the last couple of days and I was shocked at what I found!

I had a Jezebel demon afflicting me with lustful eyes, I had a Ahab type demon afflicting me with depression and I had a leviathan demon afflicting me with pain, especially spinal pain. After getting in there and dealing with them you wouldn’t believe how much LIGHTER I feel today! In fact I had the best chiropractic appointment I’ve ever had today, he hardly had to adjust me at all and my pain levels are low, about a 2 or 3 as compared to the 8 or 9 I usually get! In short I believe that addressing the spiritual is now manifesting itself in the physical and in this case my health has improved!

We all have underlying traumas that can be triggered by people or events. These traumas cause soul wounds and those wounds are what the demons attach themselves to and once attached they stick around and influence you to sin until you get rid of them. In fact the author heard it from the Lord when he stopped in the Badlands of SD to get his car washed and the Lord took the time to explain soul wounds to him.

He told me that I lived in the “Badlands” on earth as I was not in heaven yet, and that demons affected most all people both in and outside the church. People had wounds in their souls that were not healed and thus, they heard demons speaking to their minds. He said the only way to not be affected by demons was to keep my soul clean through constant forgiveness towards those who would say and do things to hurt me (along with not pursuing sin in my life or allowing other open doors to the enemy). He said there were so many wounded people in the church who were hurting other people and not behaving like true Christians with fruit of the Spirit.

Many people think soul wounds only include those things that happen to them that are very painful such as being sexually molested, raped, having a parent yell and scream at them all the time, or receiving physical abuse. Many of our wounds come through much more subtle ways such as; A parent who ignores us A parent who never shows love or affection towards us A parent who never told us they loved us or hugged us. In my case I had some unhealed soul wounds from my mother as she told me that I would never amount to anything because of the bad grades I had brought home. That statement stuck with me until recently and yet I had no idea it was there and still affecting my life today.

Soul wounds include a myriad of various painful words, actions, or traumas that come against us and cause us to feel sad, depressed, angry, or bitter. The goal of Satan is to have people hurt us as much as possible when we are young because we cannot protect ourselves when we are little. Then, we will hear the demonic spirits speak to our minds and tell us many lies that we will believe to be true that will cause us to make bad decisions as we get older.

This is where it all stems from guys, our unresolved soul wounds that demons attach themselves to and then proceed to tell us lies about ourselves. We’re not good enough, we’ll never measure up, God can’t forgive you for that one, you’re not saved because you keep sinning and on and on it goes! It is all LIES! So what is the answer to getting rid of all of this trauma?

The only way to overcome all that past pain and trauma is to have Jesus show us (from His perspective), that all those who hurt us were also hurt themselves. This allows us to forgive them from our hearts which takes away the legal rights for the demons to torment us.  Then we are freed from all the negative voices in our minds and can have peace, joy and love!

This is where you will need to do some work and FORGIVE those who hurt you and lay that pain at the foot of the cross. Once you forgive them from YOUR HEART and not just your head, then you will have peace in that area of your life. Once I did that the demons couldn’t torment me over that person or what they said or did to me anymore. I took away the trigger point by forgiveness.

In conclusion I have to say that this is the best book I’ve read on spiritual warfare yet and I can’t recommend it highly enough! Here is my Amazon affiliates link to buy it. Once you have that information then you can truly begin to address what you’re facing and kick the demons out of your life and into the pit! Once you remove their legal ground by forgiveness then the voices you were hearing will go away and the only one that will be left will be the Holy Spirit!

That doesn’t mean we can let our guard down, heaven forbid! We must be sober and vigilant because our enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour, he doesn’t rest and neither do his minions!
