Former President Obama reportedly called Democratic Socialist Zohran Mamdani after he won the New York City primary in June to congratulate him. He’s also having Patrick Gaspard, who was part of his campaign in 2008, coach Mamdani. In fact, Obama has done everything but formally endorse his fellow Marxist.
Soros’s minion advises Mamdani
Gaspard has been in the thick of it politically. He also served as the Democratic National Committee’s executive director. He was a top executive for George Soros’s Open Society Foundations (OSF) between 2017 and 2020, and he was the president of American Progress (CAP) in 2021. Now, he’s advising the New York communist and working to unite Democrats behind him, starting with the introduction of Obama campaign architect David Axelrod, according to the New York Times.

The op-ed at the Old Gray Lady was published on Wednesday. It details how Obama’s acolytes are beginning to coalesce around Mamdani and how Gaspard’s team has been advising him.
From Fox News:
Gaspard, who was reportedly at Mamdani’s victory party in late June, has played a growing role advising Mamdani and accompanying him to meetings, the piece noted. He also introduced Axelrod to Mamdani last month when the former Obama advisor visited the campaign headquarters in Manhattan.

Axelrod and Obama’s inner circle give their blessing
“What I found when I went over to that office was a familiar spirit that I hadn’t seen in a while of just determined, upbeat idealism,” Axelrod told the New York Times. “You may not agree with every answer he’s giving, or every idea he has, but he’s certainly asking the right questions, which is how do we make the country work for working people?”
That is true – communists of a feather campaign together. Mamdani and Obama are cut from the same cloth, not just on a Marxist level but on an Islamofascist level as well.
Fox News Digital reported earlier this year that Mamdani’s campaign was shoveling millions to an Obama media strategist via Axelrod and David Plouffe. The face may change, but all the names seem to remain the same.

Top former Obama staffer Ben Rhodes wrote a recent essay for the New York Times arguing that the Democratic Party needs to stop being “afraid of its own future” and fully embrace Mamdani and “Democratic Socialism.”
“Even when presented with Zohran Mamdani’s campaign in New York — an innovative example of fresh political tactics and policies — many party leaders recoiled,” he wrote in his piece. “The party seems — quite literally — afraid of its own future.”
“It is past time for Democrats to do what Mr. Mamdani did in his campaign: get out in communities. Don’t live in fear of bad-faith attacks. Mine cities and state legislatures for new ideas. Enlist civil society, faith groups, beleaguered universities, and industry in envisioning an alternative future,” he continued.

That’s exactly what Barack Obama did, and he became president.
More from Fox News:
The piece also noted how former Obama speechwriter Jon Favreau and former Obama advisor Dan Pfeiffer, who are often referred to as the “Obama bros” of the “Pod Save America” podcast, were in contact with a top Mamdani advisor and have been keeping close tabs on the race. While Obama world’s influence could play a major role over the next couple of months ahead of the general election, Gaspard’s past ties to the Soros foundations could help Mamdani tap into wealthy donors who support his agenda.
Soros is behind Mamdani
Gaspard is a millionaire many times over, thanks to George Soros, and he’s loyal to a fault to the old spider. He remarked earlier this year that he was “inspired by the selection of my friend George Soros, who is one of our leading defenders of inclusive and accountable democracy and vibrant civil society,” after then-President Joe Biden announced he would receive the Presidential Medal of Freedom.
“His accomplishments, in the face of distortions and threats from extremists, will be lauded well into the future,” he proclaimed.
“George Soros is as concerned about public safety as anyone else. But he recognizes that our criminal justice system is badly broken, and in need of new ideas and new approaches – a view that enjoyed bipartisan consensus in the before times,” Gaspard claimed in a long-winded X thread.
“It is also important to note that in Chicago, Los Angeles, Philadelphia, and all over the country, voters keep electing and re-electing reformers,” he added. “To suggest that the reason they are doing so is because of Soros’s contributions is an insult to ordinary people.”

Communist groups that have the backing of Soros and who have received tens of millions of dollars over the years are supporting Mamdani. That includes the Working Families Party, which has received over $23 million from Soros.

Democrats embrace a young Muslim communist
Communists, radicals, and anti-Semites are all coming together for Mamdani:
The report went on to say that Gaspard has played a “key role” in guiding Mamdani through the campaign and listed several of the groups that are aligned with or have endorsed Mamdani, which include Jewish Voice for Peace Action, Make The Road Action, and Community Voices Heard.
Jewish Voice for Peace Action has established itself as one of the most prominent groups in the country speaking out against Israel, and Fox News Digital previously reported that the group was active at college campuses in 2024, backing anti-Israel protests.
Influence Watch describes the group as “a left-wing, nominally Jewish group that opposes U.S. assistance to the state of Israel and supports allowing Palestinians to live on land within Israel vacated by Arabs during the Israeli War of Independence.”
This is nothing new. The Center for American Progress was integral in staffing the former Biden administration and was involved in policymaking. At least 70 CAP employees left the Soros Foundation to fill key posts in the administration.

Mamdani’s communications director, former Obama White House official Jeffrey Lerner, compared the two men.
“Much like my former boss, Zohran embodies thoughtful leadership, moral courage, and a unique ability to inspire hope in those who’ve been left behind by politics as usual,” he claimed.
The New York Times is predicting that Mamdani “is likely to be embraced by the Democratic mainstream.” There is little doubt that is true.

Obama and his team advising Mamdani are being praised by radical Democrats like Al Sharpton, according to the New York Post.
“It gives the sense that President Obama’s world is comfortable with his candidacy. It normalizes him,” the Rev. Al Sharpton commented on Thursday.
“It helps with the perception of some people that Mamdani is too radical. It sends a message that he is not unacceptable,” Sharpton said.

According to the New York Post, another unnamed source stated, “Zohran Mamdani is the future of the Democratic Party. Zohran inspired people to get involved in the political party. President Obama recognized this.”
While some Democrats are leery of Mamdani, Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez have strongly endorsed him. Others, no doubt, will fall in line as he blows away the competition in his race for mayor of the Big Apple.
