Parents in an Indiana town are sounding the alarm about a local Pride event holding “family-friendly” drag performances for children.
Brittani Story and other Zionsville parents attended a Board of Parks and Recreation Meeting on Wednesday to voice their concerns.
“I’m a Christian, I understand that other people have different beliefs than I do,” Story said. “But I have serious concerns about drag queens and drag performances going on at a public park.”
One of the organizers of the upcoming Zionsville Pride Festival spoke during the meeting and defended allowing children to see the drag performances.
“All performers are experienced in providing family-friendly entertainment,” Aubrey Able of Zionsville Pride said. “Nothing at the festival is going to meet the legal definitions of obscenity or material harmfulness to minors.”
