By Taxpayers Association of Oregon Foundation,
This Metropolitan Policy Program chart using U.S. Census Bureau data shows that the rate of Americans who have moved, has been cut in half.
Here are some of the reasons:
• Telecommuting has made it easier to work from anywhere
• Government rent control laws have locked people into their homes
• Affordable housing crisis fueled by bad government policies
• Increased government benefits for non-working hinders people moving to where better jobs are
• Decline and delay of marriage trends — fewer families seeking bigger homes
