Andrew Stiles of the Washington Free Beacon highlights another case of media malfeasance.
Eugene Daniels, the former Politico journalist who was (and still is) widely praised as a credible and objective source of information, is thriving in his new role as host of a weekend show on MSNBC, the failing left-wing network where news of Kamala Harris’s defeat in 2024 was met with disbelief on account of the fact that Queen Latifah had endorsed her.
In a performance reminiscent of Joy Reid, the former MSNBC host who was fired earlier this year for constantly stoking racial grievance, Daniels suggested that Donald Trump was a racist for trying to combat crime in Washington, D.C. “One of the things that we have seen over and over, from the president, from his team … They seem to hold their harshest criticism sometimes for cities that are majority black and brown,” he said on MSNBC’s The Weekend during a recent interview with D.C. mayor Muriel Bowser, who agreed that Trump’s racism was a problem—unlike the crime in her city, which was under control, thanks in no small part to fraudulent data.
Daniels covered the Harris campaign for Politico while also making a name for himself by wearing outlandish outfits that some described as “fashionable” and others described as “flamboyant futuristic tinpot dictator chic.” He interviewed Kamala Harris several times and asked if she thought Trump was guilty of “irredeemable racism.” Daniels also moderated numerous events for the Virginia-based news blog, including its “Confronting Inequality” series. He was profiled in several publications, which never failed to mention his love of Beyoncé or to commend the journalist for having a “fashion sense that mirrors his bold style of reporting.” As president of the White House Correspondents’ Association, the controversial left-wing activist group, Daniel repeatedly sparred with the Trump administration but was widely regarded as an ineffectual leader.
