This time, Pelosi’s war on Trump backfired big time.
And a top cop dropped the hammer on Nancy Pelosi over this sick attack on Trump.
President Trump campaigned on a promise to restore law and order.
Joe Biden and Democrat prosecutors allowed violent thugs to take over the streets of the nation’s biggest cities.
Ground zero for this Democrat permitted crime wave was Washington, D.C.
Washington’s murder rate of 27.3 per every 100,000 citizens was the fourth highest in the nation.
If Washington were a state, as so many Democrats wish, it would have the highest murder rate in the union.
There were over 29,000 crimes reported in Washington in 2024.
And the number of crimes committed by juveniles has increased every year since 2020.
There is a crime crisis in the nation’s Capital.
President Trump saw an emergency and took action.
Using his authority under federal law, President Trump announced federal control of the D.C. police force.
The President also deployed federal law enforcement, such as the FBI and DEA, to patrol the streets of D.C. to ensure public safety.
And the President also ordered the National Guard to take part in this operation.
Every act President Trump took was perfectly legal.
But since Donald Trump now says crime is a problem in D.C., Democrats are reflexively taking the position that high crime rates are good and Trump is an authoritarian for wanting to keep people safe.
Democrats like Nancy Pelosi still cling to their falsehoods about January 6 and use their discredited smears about Trump threatening democracy to attack Trump’s initiative to restore law and order to Washington, D.C.
Pelosi claimed without citing any evidence that Trump was just trying to distract from his record by deploying federal troops to D.C. and repeated her false claim that Trump delayed calling in the National Guard on January 6.
“Donald Trump delayed deploying the National Guard on January 6th when our Capitol was under violent attack and lives were at stake. Now, he’s activating the DC Guard to distract from his incompetent mishandling of tariffs, health care, education, and immigration — just to name a few blunders,” Pelosi wrote on X.
Former Chief of the D.C. Police Steven Sund responded to Pelosi’s post and set the record straight.
Sund told Pelosi that it was her Sergeant at Arms who initially denied his request for a National Guard Deployment on January 3.
“Ma’am, it is long past time to be honest with the American people. On January 3, I requested National Guard assistance, but your Sergeant at Arms denied it. Under federal law (2 U.S.C. §1970), I was prohibited from calling them in without specific approval,” Sund began.
Sund went on to say that he was forced to decline the Pentagon’s offer of guard troops to protect the Capitol because he lacked “legal authority” to accept.
“That same day, Carol Corbin at the Pentagon offered National Guard support, but I was forced to decline because I lacked the legal authority,” Sund added.
Sund revealed that on January 6, Pelosi’s Sergeant at Arms repeatedly denied his request to deploy the guard for over 70 minutes, citing the chain of command, a major hurdle that Pelosi was the roadblock to a National Guard deployment.
“On January 6, while the Capitol was under attack and despite my repeated calls, your Sergeant at Arms again denied my urgent requests for over 70 agonizing minutes, “running it up the chain” for your approval.” Sund continued.
Finally, Sund laid the complete blame for the delays in deploying the National Guard at Pelosi’s feet.
“When I needed assistance, it was denied. Yet when it suited you, you ordered fencing topped with concertina wire and surrounded the Capitol with thousands of armed National Guard troops,” Sund concluded.
The media, with the help of Nancy Pelosi’s January 6 Committee, created a myth that President Trump was the one dragging his feet on deploying the card.
This fabrication was a central pillar of the narrative special counsel Jack Smith created in his sham indictment of Trump.
But according to the police officer in charge that day, the fault lies with Nancy Pelosi.
