DC Crime Numbers: Down in Fudged Stats, Up in Real Life – And the Democrats Want You to Believe the Lie

Washington, D.C. is in trouble. And not just the “potholes and parking tickets” kind of trouble – more like “your odds of making it to your car without being mugged just dropped by half” trouble.

The DC Police Union says crime is “out of control” and officers are stretched to the breaking point. But according to Democrats, everything’s fine – because when the math doesn’t add up, you can always just change the math.

The numbers don’t lie – until someone “edits” them.

On Monday, President Trump announced the federal takeover of DC because of the out-of-control crime. However, the Dems have been all over social media talking about how safe the city is and that Trump has no right to try to reduce crime (I’m paraphrasing).

Yes, on paper, the city’s crime stats have been looking suspiciously rosy. But now we know why: A police commander has been suspended for allegedly downgrading serious felonies into lesser offenses. And according to the Fraternal Order of Police, it wasn’t just one rogue officer – it was orders from higher up. Translation: D.C. didn’t reduce crime; it just reclassified it into nicer-sounding categories. Armed robbery? Call it “misplaced property.” Assault with a deadly weapon? Must have been “spirited debate.”

Trump sends help. Dems play politics.

The DC Police Union has openly praised President Trump for recognizing the crisis. Union Chair Gregg Pemberton said in a statement, “We stand with the President in recognizing that Washington, D.C. cannot continue on this trajectory. Crime is out of control, and our officers are stretched beyond their limits.”

HE would be the one to know what’s going on – not the lyin’ Democrats.

Speaking of lies, the other crap sandwich that the Dems are offering up on X is comparing Trump deploying the Guard now vs. not doing it on January 6th – while conveniently leaving out the part where Nancy Pelosi failed to approve the National Guard when it was requested.

Even the DC liberal media can’t continue the lies anymore.

When a mainstream ABC anchor breaks script, you know things are bad. From Libs of TikTok’s repost is an anchor in DC saying: “Here in Downtown DC where we work… just in the past 6 months, there were 2 people shot, 1 person died… I was jumped walking just 2 blocks down from here… just this morning, one of my coworkers said her car was stolen a block away from the bureau…crime is happening every single day because we’re all experiencing it first-hand while working and living down here.”

ABC anchor breaks from the Left-wing script and CONFIRMS how dangerous DC is:

That’s not “bad optics.” That’s daily life in the nation’s capital. And the Dems know it’s going on. They’re just lyin’ about it. AS USUAL.

Democrats want voters to believe D.C.’s crime problem is exaggerated. But the city’s own cops are telling a different story. Residents don’t need “narrative management” from the Left; they need actual security. Tourists aren’t going to return if the first thing they experience after visiting the Lincoln Memorial is losing their rental car to a joyrider. Businesses aren’t going to stick around if employees need armed escorts to make it to the Metro.

This isn’t a “right versus left” issue – it’s a “reality versus delusion” issue. The capital of the United States has become a case study in what happens when political image management and coddling criminals with social justice takes priority over public safety. Washington, D.C., doesn’t need spin. It needs backup. And if the people in charge can’t admit there’s a problem, they shouldn’t be in charge at all.
