Ongoing declassifications pinpoint Congressman Adam Schiff for greenlighting classified intelligence leaks to harm President Donald Trump, a matter a whistleblower warned the FBI about for years.

As self-styled “Steady State” former members of the intelligence community attempted to detract FBI Director Kash Patel’s efforts to clean house, the bureau leader carried on his mission to restore public trust. To that end, Just the News obtained 302 FBI interview reports as the director submitted memos to Congress detailing that a former Democratic intelligence staffer warned as early as 2017 that then-California Rep. Adam Schiff (D) had approved classified leaks regarding Russiagate.
Having worked for House Intelligence Committee Democrats for over a decade, the intelligence officer described himself as an affiliated Democrat who was friends with Schiff and former House Intelligence Committee chairman, then-California Rep. Devin Nunes (R).
The whistleblower expressed to the FBI how he believed the leaking was “illegal,” “unethical,” and even “treasonous,” and alleged that Schiff argued the actions were protected under the speech and debate clause of the Constitution, so he shouldn’t worry about it.
“When working in this capacity, [redacted staffer’s name] was called to an all-staff meeting by SCHIFF,” read the 2023 FBI 302 document published by Just the News. “In this meeting, SCHIFF stated the group would leak classified information which was derogatory to President of the United States DONALD J. TRUMP. SCHIFF stated the information would be used to indict President TRUMP.”

He also told investigators that he said, “This would be illegal and, upon hearing his concerns, unnamed members of the meeting reassured him that they would not be caught leaking classified information.”
Having already terminated multiple senior FBI officials, including an alleged “Deep State” actor who’d been accused of exercising “poor judgment” that led to the “political weaponization of the government,” Patel posted to X, “We found it. We declassified it. Now Congress can see how classified info was leaked to shape political narratives — and decide if our institutions were weaponized against the American people.”

The director told Just the News, “For years, certain officials used their positions to selectively leak classified information to shape political narratives.”
“It was all done with one purpose: to weaponize intelligence and law enforcement for political gain,” he went on. “Those abuses eroded public trust in our institutions. The FBI will now lead the charge, with our partners at DOJ, and Congress will have the chance to uncover how political power may have been weaponized and to restore accountability.”
Just the News founder John Solomon appeared on Fox News’ “Hannity” Monday and expressed how there was more to come on this front: “This is the first of several major leak investigations we’re going to see over the next several days. You’re gonna see other major people that were clearly identified by the FBI, having leaked classified secrets.”
“Their own staff turned them in when interviewed by the FBI. Nothing, again, happened. It’s a common pattern. The question now is, in Donald Trump’s Justice Department, does that dynamic change?” he wondered.
Another name that was brought up purportedly as a likely source of classified leaks was California Rep. Eric Swalwell (D), who, like now-Sen. Schiff received a blanket preemptive pardon from then-President Joe Biden at the end of his administration.
It was further alleged that the whistleblower had been fired by Schiff’s staff for a perceived lack of “party loyalty.” The senator was referred to the Justice Department in May for alleged mortgage fraud, a matter his attorney vehemently denies.
