President Trump spends much of his time fighting opponents of his agenda.
Now, Trump is facing opposition from someone he thought was on his side.
And all hell broke loose when Trump suffered a sick betrayal by one supposed ally.
Donald Trump campaigned on being the peace President.
Since taking office, President Trump has negotiated deals to end six wars.
The latest peace agreement Trump brokered ended a decades-long war between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
But the big peace deal Trump sought since taking office was the one that would end the three-and-a-half-year-long war between Ukraine and Russia.
The President thinks he may be approaching the goal line on that one when he announced a summit to take place in Alaska between himself and Russian President Vladimir Putin.
“The highly anticipated meeting between me, as President of the United States of America, and President Vladimir Putin, of Russia, will take place next Friday, August 15, 2025, in the Great State of Alaska. Further details to follow. Thank you for your attention to this matter!
Trump’s announcement came after Russia submitted a proposal to envoy Steve Witkoff with their conditions to end the war.
The President told reporters this deal would involve territorial swapping, as Russia controls much of Eastern Ukraine as well as Crimea.
“We’re looking at that, but we’re looking to get some back, some swapping. It’s complicated…There will be some swapping of territory,” Trump stated.
Q: “Will Zelensky have to give up territory?”

Ukraine has no hope of regaining this land.
They have lost the war, and Russia’s forces are making further advances.
But Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is once again attempting to sabotage President Trump’s peace plan.
Zelensky expects Americans to fund a blank check for his lost cause in perpetuity.
Rather than come to the table to bargain, Zelensky outright rejected President Trump’s plan for peace.
“Any decisions that are against us, any decisions that are without Ukraine, are at the same time decisions against peace. They will not achieve anything. These are stillborn decisions. They are unworkable decisions,” Zelensky posted on X.
Zelensky refused to accept the reality of the situation and ranted that “we will not reward Russia for what it has perpetrated. The Ukrainian people deserve peace. But all partners must understand what a dignified peace is.
Zelensky refused to cede any ground even though a large portion of his country is under the control of the Russian army.
“The answer to the Ukrainian territorial question is already in the Constitution of Ukraine. No one will deviate from this—and no one will be able to. Ukrainians will not gift their land to the occupier,” Zelensky added.
President Trump and Vice President J.D. Vance already dressed down Zelensky in the Oval Office after Zelensky acted like an ingrate and demanded the American military put boots on the ground to secure Ukraine from a Russian invasion.
President Trump wants to end this war and deliver peace to Ukraine and Europe.
But once again, Zelensky is acting like he’s owed endless, unlimited American taxpayer support to keep this war going.
