Democrats are eying the 2026 midterm election as their chance to seize power and stop the Trump agenda.
The President has other ideas.
And Donald Trump has one secret weapon that spells doom for Democrats.
The census normally occurs once a decade, and the population counts from each state are used to reapportion the 435 Congressional Districts.
2020 was the last census.
The next one is scheduled for 2030.
But there is no prohibition about doing a count more than once a decade.
President Trump announced he was ordering the Commerce Department to undertake a second census that would correct the count of the population in each state and exclude illegal aliens from the tally.
“I have instructed our Department of Commerce to immediately begin work on a new and highly accurate CENSUS based on modern-day facts and figures and, importantly, using the results and information gained from the Presidential Election of 2024. People who are in our Country illegally WILL NOT BE COUNTED IN THE CENSUS. Thank you for your attention to this matter!” President Trump wrote on Truth Social.
President Trump’s call for a new census was necessitated by the errors from the 2020 count that cheated Republicans and handed Democrats Congressional seats in blue states that otherwise shouldn’t have existed.
The population undercounts were centered in red states, and overcounts focused in blue states.
National Public Radio reported that the “national tally’s accuracy found significant net undercount rates in six states: Arkansas (5.04%), Florida (3.48%), Illinois (1.97%), Mississippi (4.11%), Tennessee (4.78%), and Texas (1.92%).
It also uncovered significant net overcount rates in eight states — Delaware (5.45%), Hawaii (6.79%), Massachusetts (2.24%), Minnesota (3.84%), New York (3.44%), Ohio (1.49%), Rhode Island (5.05%), and Utah (2.59%).”
The census, including illegal aliens, benefited the Democrat Party even more unfairly, as they gained dozens of House seats they otherwise weren’t entitled to.
“Democrats have stolen 20-30 House seats by counting illegal aliens in the Census,” White House Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller told Newsmax.
Under the current Congressional District maps. Democrats only need to flip three seats in the House of Representatives to win back the majority.
A Democrat run House will launch a third impeachment hoax against President Trump as its first order of business.
But an accurate and fair census would show Republicans holding a much bigger majority.
The true apportionment of House Districts could put a Democratic majority out of reach for the 2026 cycle.
And that is why the left will pull out all the stops to defeat President Trump’s push for a new census.
