The recent ferry contract award to a Chinese Company raises the perennial question . Does Canada have an industrial policy.
This is pretty embarrassing. Both the BC Government and The Federal Government are in on this debacle.
The Federal frowning on this all the way to being disappointed is such joke that it is fails on every level.
Canada has for decades talked of a ship building policy and an overall economic policy . Yet we talk , do studies and frown.
Now ,of course , we say it’s too late to cancel the contract and involve Canadian Industry. And, of course , we are too expensive. We have priced ourselves out of the market.
Does this sound like a failed state?
It does to me.
No doubt by some twisted logic we will blame this on Trump!!
We do nothing wrong—just a few internal trade barriers , violating a NATO Agreement, low productivity——millions without a family doctor yet almost first among government run health care nations in how much we spend , subsidizing just about everything —-
But, we’re just perfect!!
