On this week’s The Word of the Lord podcast, host Jeffrey Lord talks about Texas Democrats’ dereliction of duty as they flee to Illinois in an effort to prevent a quorum and disrupt a redistricting vote.
“All this craziness coming from Texas Democrats in the state makes things crystal clear: for Texas Democrats, it’s all about the power, stupid. And if they can’t win elections to get that power, then they’re going to take their ball and go to Illinois,” Lord said.
Texas Governor Greg Abbott has threatened to remove the Democrats from the state’s House of Representatives if the absent lawmakers don’t return by Monday afternoon.
“Real Texans do not run from a fight,” Abbott said.
“These legislators are a long way from the spirit that animated the Alamo,” Lord said.
