Is a ruptured waterslide a reason to panic? Some folks certainly think so!
Wild video shared by Fox News shows a moment after a Royal Caribbean cruise ship’s waterslide ruptured near the top, sparking great concern among onlookers.
“Stop the slide!” was heard from a panicked crowd. And why not be panicked? A plexiglass panel falling off the bottom of the tube seems like a big deal. Thankfully, no one appeared to have been seriously injured.
“Our team provided medical care to an adult guest when acrylic glass broke off a water slide as the guest passed through the slide,” a Royal Caribbean Group spokesperson, according to ABC News. “The guest is being treated for his injuries.”

The short clip sparked plenty of banter on X, where some thought the crowd’s reaction was over-the-top:
You spend $2,000 to relax at sea, and end up dodging shrapnel like it’s Die Hard: Cruise Edition. These ships keep getting bigger but the safety checks clearly didn’t scale with them.

A slide panel shatters on the biggest cruise ship and the passengers lose their damn minds like it’s the Titanic all over again. Newsflash: when you’re on a floating city, shit can go sideways fast. Emergency shutdown? Injuries? That’s not a vacation—it’s a damn adrenaline rush…

Yup.
There is a reason I am hesitant about going on a cruise.

I thought so!
This is what happens when all you can eat buffets meet water slides.

You zoom in you could see the person up there stuck

Say, WHAT.
reason 5,342 why i would never step foot on a large cruise ship.

That sounds terrifying! Glad to hear only one injury, but safety on such massive ships is definitely crucial. Hope the guest recovers quickly.
