California’s Latest Anti-Parent Bill Alarms Even Liberals

The one-party, feudal state aka California has demonstrated over and over that they believe “parental rights” don’t exist. Committee hearings on the latest anti-parent bill with the mendacious title of “Family Preparedness Plan Act of 2025” should be terrifying to any rational adult.

As California lawmakers recess for the summer, Assembly Bill 495, dubbed the “Family Preparedness Plan Act of 2025,” sits poised in the Senate Appropriations Committee. Authored by Assemblywoman Celeste Rodriguez (San Fernando-D), the bill claims to provide compassionate solutions for immigrant families facing sudden separations due to detention or deportation. But critics—including attorneys, parental rights advocates, and faith-based organizations—warn it dangerously redefines guardianship, strips away parental rights, and creates legal loopholes that make kidnapping children easy.

Wait, what? Sounds pretty hyperbolic, right? Kidnapping?

In fact, the ‘can drive a freight train through it’ loophole has got the attention of people across the political spectrum, from Pastor Jack Hibbs …

“This is the end of [parental rights],” Calvary Chapel Chino Hills Pastor Jack Hibbs told parishioners last week. “If this bill passes, I’m going to ask you [parents] to leave the state of California. You’re going to have to pack up and you’re gonna have to get out. You gotta get out. You gotta run with your kids. You gotta go.”

With this bill, California Democrats are going all-in on the destroy-the-village-to-save-it rationale for “saving” children illegally in the country, while endangering every other child as well. Indeed, all children legally or illegally in this country could be kidnapped or trafficked under this bill.

What this means is “the caregiver does not get legal custody of the child by filling out this Affidavit, s/he just gets to make educational + medical decisions while you are away and s/he can NOT contradict your wishes… Unless we disagree with them, in which case, s/he does get…

AB495 creates a one-page “Caregivers authorization affidavit” that can be filled out by any adult, presented with id to a school or daycare center and voila, the child is handed over. The school is also expressly released from any liability for handing over the child. No vetting, no court order, no questioning the “id” presented, no calling the legal parent or guardian and no qualification that this only applies to ostensible-illegal-alien kids/families. It covers all children.

Nicole Pearson’s testimony:

Pearson pleads that stripping parents of rights is not the way to “protect immigrant children”, but she is making a good faith assumption about the Democrats that wrote the bill. A good faith assumption that is more than suspect over the CA Democrats hostility to parental rights in general. Whether it is about letting males compete in girls’ sports or becoming a sanctuary state for any child convinced that only chemical and surgical mutilation will make them happy, the Socialists in Sacramento refuse to allow any parent any quarter to oppose their radical political agenda.

Remember, Greasy Gavin Newsom is trying to wipe out six Republican Congressional seats in California and he is running for President. How safe is your child going to be from him?
