A federal grand jury has indicted Jacob Daniel Terrazas, 30, for his brutal assault on Border Patrol agents during the violent Los Angeles riots in June. Terrazas was caught on video hurling cinderblocks and rocks at federal officers, leaving one agent injured and bleeding. The indictment, handed down Tuesday, charges him with “assault on a federal employee by using a deadly and dangerous weapon resulting in bodily injury,” a crime that could land him behind bars for up to 20 years.
U.S. Attorney Bill Essayli, appointed under President Donald Trump’s administration, made it clear that such attacks on law enforcement will not be tolerated. “We will not stand by while our brave officers get hurt. If you’re thinking of injuring an officer or agent enforcing immigration law, think again. It’s not worth it,” Essayli declared. His strong stance echoes President Trump’s unwavering commitment to law and order, a sharp contrast to the liberal media’s soft-on-crime rhetoric that often excuses or even glorifies violent rioters.
The Violent Attack on Law Enforcement
According to the Department of Justice (DOJ), Terrazas was part of a violent mob that descended on a Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) facility in Paramount on June 7. What began as a protest quickly turned into a full-blown riot, with agitators—many masked and armed—launching a relentless assault on federal agents.
Terrazas, wearing a dark beanie and black mask, used a makeshift shield and nearby trees for cover as he repeatedly charged at Border Patrol agents, hurling chunks of cinderblock. One agent was struck in the left shin, causing a bleeding injury severe enough to force him to temporarily retreat. Yet, in a display of true bravery, the agent “realized he could still walk and stand—and returned to the front lines.” Another agent was hit by rocks but escaped injury.
For three hours, Terrazas and his fellow rioters pelted law enforcement with rocks and debris before officers finally subdued them using less-lethal pepper balls. Terrazas was detained, identified, and arrested—a rare instance of accountability in cities where liberal prosecutors often let violent criminals walk free.

Liberal Media’s Silence & Trump’s Strong Leadership
While the left-wing media remains eerily silent on attacks against law enforcement—especially those enforcing immigration laws—President Trump has consistently stood with the men and women who protect our borders. His administration’s zero-tolerance policy for assaults on federal officers sends a clear message: violence will be met with justice.
Unlike the Biden-era DOJ, which has been accused of targeting conservatives while ignoring left-wing violence, Trump’s Justice Department prioritizes the safety of Americans and those who defend them. This indictment is a testament to that commitment.
