Police in Washington state are looking for a man they say shot and killed another man and wounded a woman inside the emergency room at a Tacoma hospital Wednesday night.
Tacoma Police say they believe the shooter and the victims had an altercation prior to their arrival at the Allenmore Hospital, KOMO reported.
“We don’t believe the moment was random,” said Tacoma Officer Shelbie Boyd. “We don’t know the relationship before the events of yesterday. Did they know each other before? We don’t know that.”
“I know that there are people out there who know who may have been involved in this, and we would ask that you contact us,” Boyd said.
According to KING, police said the suspect followed the man and woman into the waiting room of the emergency department and opened fire. The man was pronounced dead on the scene, while the woman was taken in for treatment and later released.
Police are reviewing hospital security footage in an attempt to identify the suspect. The hospital reopened at about 3 a.m.
The victims’ identities have not been released.
