Vance Boelter claims that he wanted to turn himself in after the shootings of two Minnesota lawmakers and their spouses earlier this summer.
Boelter is scheduled to appear in court tomorrow, Aug. 7, for his arraignment, where he will enter his plea. He could face the death penalty.
In correspondence from jail, Boelter provided details about what he claims happened the night he is accused of assassinating Minnesota House Speaker Emerita Melissa Hortman and her husband Mark; and shooting Minnesota Sen. Mark Hoffman, his wife Yvette, and their daughter.
“On June 14th my goal was to do citizen arrests, which went horribly wrong. My goal was never to shoot people, which goes against my Christian faith, and how I’ve lived the last 40 years,” Boelter claimed.
Boelter then said he wanted to make these “citizen arrests” because people “were dying after getting the Covid vaccine and the Minnesota government leadership was covering it up.”
“Anyone in Minnesota that had a loved one die suddenly or unexpectedly, that was given the COVID vaccine should pay very close attention to this case,” Boelter wrote.
In his recent writings from jail, Boelter claimed again that he took part in a two-year “undercover investigation” concerning the deaths of 400 Minnesota citizens.
Boelter also wrote that he was shown evidence of “massive financial connections between Minnesota politicians and the Chinese government.”
“After being a minister for 30 years and preaching on the value of every human life, having an amazing wife and family, what did I learn that was so awful that would make me risk all that, and decide to do citizen arrests?” the accused assassin said.
Boelter was arrested June 15 near his residence in Green Isle after a 43-hour manhunt — the largest in Minnesota history. “I drove to my farm site to get turned in,” he said.

Acting U.S. Attorney Joe Thompson previously called Boelter’s confession letter — in which he claims Gov. Tim Walz wanted him to kill U.S. Sens. Amy Klobuchar and Tina Smith — a “delusion” that “seems designed to excuse his crimes.”
Alpha News reached out to Thompson about Boelter’s latest correspondence. However, the U.S. Attorney’s Office said it could not offer comment.
