Elon Musk was President Trump’s biggest supporter.
But Musk had a message to deliver.
But Musk had a message to deliver.
As Conservative Reboot reports:
On the campaign trail, Elon Musk said he could already identify $2 trillion in federal spending to cut.
Musk said America’s $36 trillion national debt represented an existential crisis, and the country had precious little time remaining to get the red ink under control.
After winning the election, President Trump named Musk the head of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) and tasked Musk with leading the charge on rooting out waste, fraud, and abuse in federal programs.
DOGE turned up shocking discoveries – such as how the Biden administration propped up the left’s political operations by funneling grants to NGOs.
One Environmental Protection Agency grant for solar panels – funneled to an NGO that was linked to failed Georgia Gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams – stood out.
The group never performed this type of work and only had brought in $100 in revenue.
But the swamp fought back.
Musk faced daily smear campaigns from the media as bureaucrats sabotaged DOGE with fake news leaks.
Leftwing terrorists torched Tesla dealerships and threatened the company’s stock price.
The media trashed Musk’s personal and professional reputation just because Musk identified hundreds of billions of dollars in spending cuts and hundreds of thousands of deep state bureaucrats for termination.
But enough was enough.
Musk announced he was resigning as a special government employee.
“As my scheduled time as a Special Government Employee comes to an end, I would like to thank President @realDonaldTrump for the opportunity to reduce wasteful spending,” Musk posted on social media. “The @DOGE mission will only strengthen over time as it becomes a way of life throughout the government.”
Trump supporters were outraged that Musk and Trump took all the hits in the media for slashing wasteful government spending while the GOP Congress sat on their hands.
A social media uprising of conservative anger eventually forced the House of Representatives into action.
Georgia Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene announced the House would soon vote on a rescission package to codify DOGE cuts to defund liberal media outlets PBS and NPR as well as foreign aid.
“I was just told that we are going to see the first DOGE cuts bill on Monday. Foreign aid and NPR/CPB on the chopping block. I have not seen the bill yet, but I’m just passing on what they told me. Personally I want to pass DOGE cuts every single week until the bloated out of control government is reigned back in,” Greene posted to X.
Greene noted this rescission package was only $9 billion in spending cuts and Congress should vote on one rescission bill a week until 100 percent of DOGE’s recommended spending cuts were passed into law.
“As a country, we cannot survive our national debt and honestly, we may be past the point of return. We should be aggressively attacking our debt and aggressively, cutting all waste fraud, and abuse and unnecessary programs. Our future literally is in peril,” Greene added.
