The members of the U.S. Senate just confirmed President Donald Trump’s appointment of Judge Jeanine Pirro as the next U.S. Attorney for Washington, D.C.
The former Fox News host, as we will see, is very happy about the move.
The Senate, according to Breitbart News, confirmed Pirro on Saturday.
I am blessed to have received a Senate confirmation vote this evening of 50 to 45 to be the United States attorney for the District of Columbia the largest United States Attorney’s Office in the country. Thank you to those senators who supported my confirmation and DC- get ready…

She’s In!
The Senate held its vote on Pirro’s appointment on Saturday.
The final tally was 50 votes in favor, and 45 votes against. The vote, obviously, went along party lines.
For those unfamiliar with Pirro, the Associated Press reports on how “she co-hosted the Fox News show ‘The Five’ on weekday evenings, where she frequently interviewed Trump.”
But she also has a distinguished background in the law. The Associated Press reports:
Pirro, a 1975 graduate of Albany Law School, has significantly more courtroom experience than Martin, who had never served as a prosecutor or tried a case before taking office in January. She was elected as a judge in New York’s Westchester County Court in 1990 before serving three terms as the county’s elected district attorney.
Martin, is Ed Martin, the attorney whom Trump first picked for the job.
“Blessed”
Pirro celebrated the news that she has been confirmed by the Senate in a social media message that she released shortly after receiving the good news.
In that message, she wrote:
I am blessed to have received a Senate confirmation vote this evening of 50 to 45 to be the United States attorney for the District of Columbia the largest United States Attorney’s Office in the country. Thank you to those senators who supported my confirmation and DC- get ready for a real crime fighter.
President Trump had selected Pirro for the role back in May, after his original pick for the position met Senate opposition.
At the time, Trump wrote:
I am pleased to announce that Judge Jeanine Pirro will be appointed interim United States Attorney for the District of Columbia. Jeanine is incredibly well qualified for this position, and is considered one of the Top District Attorneys in the History of the State of New York.
“She is in a class by herself. Congratulations Jeanine!” Trump added.
