Another federal judge has just stopped President Donald Trump and his administration from proceeding with one of its immigration policy changes.
This time, the judge, according to Fox News, is Judge Trina Thompson of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California.
Like many of these judges who are trying to slow Trump down, Thompson is an appointee of former President Joe Biden.
The judges of the Northern District of California are in full-on rebellion against the Supreme Court.
There was already an attempt to stop the administration from ending TPS for Venezuelans. The Supreme Court stayed that on July 7th.

Background
This has to do with the Trump administration’s plan to end the temporary protected status of immigrants from Honduras, Nicaragua, and Nepal.
“The TPS program gives the DHS authority to permit immigrants who might otherwise have no legal status to temporarily reside in the United States because of extraordinary circumstances in their home countries, such as wars or natural disasters,” Fox reports.
Breitbart News details how, “Though meant to be temporary, since the Clinton administration, TPS has been transformed into a de facto amnesty program as nearly every president has routinely extended it and designated new countries for TPS status.”
Trump has been trying to rein in the program, as part of his overall immigration strategy, but several judges, from different parts of the country, are trying to slow him down.
Thompson is now one of them.
The ruling
Thompson, in her ruling, claimed that Trump’s plan to end the temporary protected status of these immigrants violated the Administrative Procedure Act. She further argued that the move was driven by racial animus.
She wrote:
The freedom to live fearlessly, the opportunity of liberty, and the American dream. That is all Plaintiffs seek. Instead, they are told to atone for their race, leave because of their names, and purify their blood. The Court disagrees.
Elsewhere in her decision, Thompson added, “Color is neither a poison nor a crime.”
Fox highlights the fact that the U.S. Supreme Court has already okayed a similar move by Trump. It explains:
In May, the Supreme Court sided with the Trump administration in an emergency order related to a case involving TPS for Venezuelans. The order temporarily paused a lower court order, clearing the way for Noem to end TPS for about 350,000 immigrants.
We’ll have to see if this case ends up having a similar outcome.
