MIAMI, FL – A Miami-Dade sheriff’s deputy is facing serious allegations after being accused of sexually abusing a teenage girl and posting the illicit acts online. The FBI’s investigation revealed disturbing messages that indicate the deputy was aware of her illegal relationship with the minor and even anticipated the day the teenager would turn 18, promising marriage.
Carle Miranda Bluhm, a 51-year-old veteran with 29 years in law enforcement, has not had a mugshot released yet. However, body camera footage from a previous arrest in 2022 offers a glimpse of the officer now embroiled in controversy.
The federal complaint highlights videos found on the victim’s phone, including several recorded in Atlanta, one of which allegedly shows Bluhm violently choking the teen in October 2024. Such behavior, officials say, severely tarnishes the integrity of the badge.
Bluhm and the victim reportedly communicated over social media, with a TikTok account linked to Bluhm’s name and uniform, boasting 15,000 followers. Screenshots of their exchanges reveal explicit conversations and media shared between them. In one chilling conversation, the deputy allegedly threatened to kill the victim if she attempted to leave the relationship.
The teenager was placed under psychiatric evaluation last week, and Bluhm is said to have traveled to Atlanta to be present when the teen was discharged from the hospital. This week, the FBI arrested Bluhm in Georgia, where she remains before further legal proceedings.
Authorities plan to relieve Bluhm of duty once she is processed. The charge of recording a minor in a sexual act alone carries a minimum sentence of 15 years in prison, underscoring the gravity of the situation.
The case has left many deeply disturbed, not only as citizens but also as law enforcement professionals who are expected to uphold the highest standards of conduct.
