Based on merit, not connections, Governor Little appointed Regina McCrea to serve our community as a District Court judge. Given McCrea’s exemplary background and exceptional character, this appointment will prove to be a wise decision as she will provide us with a high standard from the bench.
During her law career, representing both companies and individuals, McCrea has served clients on both sides in civil litigation. She has assisted clients with insurance claims holding parties accountable for negligence and misconduct. She has managed major litigation often involving claims exceeding a million dollars, and has achieved million dollar settlements for her clients.
After earning her Juris Doctorate. graduating 3rd in a class of 101, in 2004, McCrea took back-to-back both Idaho and Washington bar exams. She served as Editor-in-Chief for her university’s Law Review.
Representing one of the best and brightest of her profession, McCrea has been a member of the Board of Directors for the Idaho Trial Lawyers Association, and served as past president. Appointed by the Idaho State Bar, she has served since 2019 as a Medical Malpractice Pre-Litigation Chair. She also served as a Community Library Network board trustee with a profound comprehension of the law while taking her obligation seriously to serve all library patrons fairly and equally. She supported establishing an age-graduated minors card system in response to some library patrons’ concerns
McCrea believes judges should be independent, not beholden to any political party; politics should not play a role in interpreting laws and rendering decisions on legal matters; and the letter of the law should be impartially applied.
McCrea provides exceptional qualifications, legal acumen and a noble temperament.
